|  | | | Well, it is a slow day at work so I started digging on the rumor that the house was used as a movie set.
It looks like it was used to film "como agua para chocolate" or Like water for Chocolate in the early 90's.
I dont think I can sit through a magical chick flick but the man on the balcony is for sure the house in the DB.

Looking at the pics, I would say most of the house was there before the movie. They didnt use T&G floors for a movie prop. It does look like the cinderblock fireplaces are newer though.
