| | Abandoned places in the Sacramento area? < on 2/11/2013 5:53 PM >
| | | I was wondering if anyone here knew of a few abandoned places around the Sacramento area. I am very new to this site and I was referred here by another photographer. I hope to do photography of abandoned buildings and such in this area and sell those pictures so I can travel further to take pictures of further out abandoned places. Any info on finding an interesting place would be extremely helpful.

| | | Welcome! It might be best to post this in the designated region in question. Also, being new to the site it is normally frowned upon to simply "ask for handouts" especially if you are new and no one knows who you are. It is best to try and meet up with some of the locals, or share some of your photography first to get some trust going. Due to the nature and legalities of UE people can be pretty hesitant at first... so let's see what you got!

| | | You may want to read this:http://www.uer.ca/...d=1&threadid=83700 and some of the other stickies for this forum. There are reasons people don't like publicly sharing locations. I'd suggest getting started by posting in the 'new member' thread, participating in discussions (particularly from your regional board), attending a meet-up, finding and exploring a spot of your own, and posting some pictures. People are a lot more receptive of those who don't come across as 'HEY GUYS I'M NEW, LOCATIONS PLEASE?'. That being said, welcome to the site! Looking forward to seeing whatever cool stuff you find.

How'd we get here, and how are we getting out of here?!

| | | Try posting in Pacific Southwest, (since i'm assuming you mean Sacramento, CA), there are a few explorers up that way, but for whatever reason, it seems that there are few accessible sites up there, and the ones that are seem to catch on fire. Either way there is some cool stuff around Sacramento, but your going to have to do like all explorers do, search and search, spend gas driving around, and just look. Best of luck! Oh, Google and Flickr are your friends as well!
