Abandoned MA campus

The entire college campus is abandoned except one building which is still very active day and night. I've visited here a few times over the years but never had the chance to check out one of the buildings. Planning to go check it out again this weekend and take better photographs. Has anyone else come across this place as well?

This place was actually a school for truants, not a college.

Is the active building still used for academic pursuits? This is in my mom's hometown, but I never really thought much about checking it out when I still lived up north.

It's actually a part of a college campus. The college campus's are divided amongst North, South, East, and West. This is one of them. The creepy thing about it is there are no online records or history as to why it closed or when. Even if you ask the faculty of the college they have no answer or information as to why. No one seems to know. It's a very mysterious place. I have heard rumor that the building is a corrective facility of sorts and they're pretty high on security from what I see.

She's right, it was originally a truant school, they used a building on the campus for the college, but the rest stayed abandoned. I've even run into former wards of the state walking their dogs up there. Most likely if someone that worked at the college was there before it closed they either worked or lived at it when it was a truant school. Of course this is from the accounts of a few people i met on the grounds that had accurate descriptions of the inside of the buildings. I didn't ask anyone at the college.

Ah yes you're both right, it did use to be a truant school I apologize! But what I found interesting is I noticed even on all of the abandoned buildings it has the college logo and name on all of the doors. What I'm curious about is if it was the truant school first and then later became the campus or vice versa. I'm not sure what the correct chronology of this place is, but it sure is fun to try to figure out! I'll be heading there tomorrow afternoon and I'll do my best to try to access one of the buildings without getting caught. Maybe I can find some info in there or something.

Very nice! There is something strangely charming about the buildings, especially in picture 3. I can't wait to see if you find out any more info about the history.

If I'm remembering right there was some evidence inside that they may have used the buildings as storage for the college. I think i saw a few papers strewn about maybe some furniture with furniture tags or something to that affect. Looking through my pictures I cant really tell.

The buildings are well sealed and closely watched. You'll be asked to leave if spotted anywhere other than the active parking lot.

Now that you mention it I remember seeing scattered papers and children's books all on the floor through one of the windows and openings I found as well as what appears to be a couple of blank VHS.

Yes they are. I've been a few times and I was only stopped once and when they asked what I was doing I told them I was only taking photographs for college work and they were okay with me doing so as long as I didn't try to break in any of the buildings. They seemed pretty okay about it as long as you don't look secretive and suspicious. I've noticed it's also quite the spot for people to walk their dogs through.

Huh, I had a very different experience there, much more along the lines of GTFO. And we were just walking up the road, not acting sketchy.

Wow really?! That sucks, they must have been in a bad mood or something. You should definitely try again someday!

I've visited a couple times with zero incident other than briefly hiding. The campus is beautiful but the one open building was extremely trashed and boring. Very modern...some random guys walked through and I picked their brains a bit. They said something about a computer company [or something] briefly owning parts of it.

All and all the building I saw wasn't worth the trouble. But I found this funny.

Yea I have never had an incident also! Really? Which building did you go in if you don't mind me asking? If you don't want to mention which one I understand!

So I went back there today and I once again had no problems with people saying anything. The only thing I was told was to be careful and the security guy called me crazy since it's very cold. I noticed that they re-boarded ALOT of the loose or missing boards recently, so I was unfortunately unable to gain access to any of the buildings like I previously was. I was pretty bummed out. Maybe if I periodically check in here and there they'll become loose or missing and there will be access points yet again. I did manage to take more photos of the buildings themselves if anyone is interested in those! I did notice that two of the buildings had the college logo on them and one had a sign on the glass door saying " *name of college* Center For Field Services & Studies". Just some minor info, nothing too deep. Definitely going to check in here and there!

First photo on the Right (Of the second set)... Isn't that an open window?

And LOL at the "smile your on camera". Clearly not to be taken seriously with the wrong form of you're. ;)

It looks wide open in the photo but if you look close only the top half is slightly open. There is indeed a board covering majority of it. I wouldn't be able to squeeze through that tight space and there is broken glass lining the window. I've looked all over for an opening in all buildings =/

Haha yea I had a good laugh from that and I could not take it seriously due to the poor grammar.

Sadly one of the buildings was burnt down recently and they plan to knock down the remains of said burnt building. It was the one with the huge dish in front of it =/
