Anyone familiar with a certain park in Myrtle Beach, SC?

Despite not quite being a noob, but still not a full member , I still don't really know how to go about talking about a location without naming it.

My family visits Myrtle Beach in South Carolina just about every summer and I finally managed to get into a amusement place that I'd been drooling over ever since it closed, which wasn't really that long ago. This was almost two years ago and so I've been wondering who else has been?

Though this place was never free to get into, the style was always pretty cool and exploring it was like music to my abandoned park loving ears.

One of my best friends was there last year. He said security was patrolling pretty heavy. He only got to see part of it before it got too sketch.

I only managed to be in the park for maybe 2 hours and probably half of that was in hiding. I also only got to check out about half. I've never been so paranoid in my life. I never saw anyone but I kept thinking I heard muffled voices but I think that was part of the paranoia. It's just such an open place so it wouldn't take much to be spotted even from a distance. Even though I got sun-burnt, it was a crazy awesome experience. And yeah, I totally got pictures!

Let's see some pics! I've done it. Got busted and let off with a warning. Most likely I just got lucky though. This was May of '12.

Heard of it, seen some decent shots by people who got in. I've always heard about heavy security tho, anything I've seen involves the exploring party running into or being escorted out by security. You got lucky to have 2 hours in there, most people don't make it much past the gate. Place looks fucking awesome tho. I know if it were closer I woulda checked it out by now.

Fucking Spiders.....

I tried to look this place up and find some photos and I can't find anything! I would love to get in here as I also go to SC each year. There is a old golf resort that is abandoned not far from tis location in surf side. Nt much to see but it's neat looking.

Dammit. I wish I'd have known about this place while I was down last Easter. Will look into this in 2014, hopefully it's still around. Looks like construction was going on around there at some point per google street view.

I edited out the name of the park, but I guess anybody reading this thread knows exactly where we're talking about.

"The former Park which closed down twice, in 2008, and then again in 2009 has recently seen activity throughout the park. The Zeppelin roller coaster came to life as the lights on the lift hill were turned on and flags were spotted at the top of the lift hill.

A guy who owns a barber shop across the street said ”Midway last week, the lights came on on the Zeppelin roller coaster, and I’ve noticed a new flag hanging from the apex of the roller coaster, and I saw some people out there taking pictures midweek last week.”

People that live in the area hope something is done with the site soon because it is an eyesore and want it cleaned up. Rumors have been swirling that the former Zeppelin coaster may be up for sale. I guess we will have to wait and see what the fate is for the rest of the park."

Well, apparently I'm a giant idiot because I only posted pics from the scouting trip and never went back and added pics from inside the park.

I'm amazed by the interior shots. All the merchandise is still there waiting for the next customers to walk through the door.
Eerie…nice, but eerie.
