is THIS.

http://www.travelc...pisodes/crazy-town

effing morons.
the cops already have nothing better to do than to catch someone trying to get inside. yeah - there is a HUGE meth situation out there but they also really seem to enjoy keeping people out of here. no - it hasn't been impossible before - but this will make it damn near for awhile. we all know that the renovation is never going to happen so eventually it will cool off...i hope.

To be honest, I surprised that it took this long. Its been listed as one of the most "haunted" locations in texas for years.

as for the police... its always going to be a issue, the station is right across the street and all of them watch the baker.

from the article...." During the lockdown, Zak turns aggressive after a shadow figure seems to disappear into him."

Do people actually believe this?

yes, and that makes me cry at night.

When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store.

I saw the show. It will make it a magnet for idiots and cops for a while, yeah. But given time, it'll settle down. Like fatwax 4 said though, it's always been an issue. High profile location, right across from the police who have nothing better to do in a town like this.

Huh...and it was relatively easy access the last couple times I passed through (late October & late November).

I haven't been out there in a couple of years. So I really can't say what the situation is now. I know that it looks to be in much worse shape than when I saw the inside.

I have yet to visit although I was close to getting in a few years ago.

Still hoping.

As far as being haunted, I wouldn't be surprised considering how long it's been around and it's history. But that Zak guy is so full of shit, I don't believe anything from that show. Bunch of idiots imo, lol.

When I saw "Baker" and "Crazy Town" I mis-read it as Lazy Town and thought of Stephanie baking a cake...

The Baker had relatively easy access (for a town that size) as of last week. Or maybe we just lucked out.

I, too, happened to be passing through last week, and figured I'd stop by to scout it. I was on a tight deadline, so I didn't get the job done properly, but I will say this: the grounds were OVERRUN with people. I easily saw 15-20 people milling about, including an entire family with kids as young as 6 or 7. Even if it was easy to get into (and I didn't see any easy access), you'd instantly be followed by everyone and it would be a disaster. Let the waiting game begin...

Agreed. When I came by there were a bunch of what looked like local kids wandering around outside the property. We actually ended up leaving and coming back later in the day because it was apparent we were going to be followed.

I would be HIGHLY interested in getting in on a workshop about light painting. Any events planned in the future? (If it's in the Baker again- even better.)

It was all done Gangnam Guerrilla-style. The first night of the private 'shop was at Swift Meat, in 20-degree temperatures and partial snow on the ground, and the second night at the Baker, partially because the customer had long wanted to get inside, and partially because a friend had gone there in the wee hours of Christmas morning, and there was still wide open access, which thankfully hadn't been sealed yet.

If there's enough interest, I'd be happy to do another workshop at the Baker, contingent upon access, of course. If interested, let me know and I'll see what I can put together.

I'm definitely interested (provided I can afford it, as I'd assume it's a paid class), and I know a friend of mine would be all about it as well. I'm in Austin and he's in Dallas, so I would probably have to do it on a weekend if that is at all possible. I'm moving at the end of this month, and have an event on January 19th, so I probably can't do anything til Feb.

Hmm...OK, sounds like there's 4, maybe 5 if insulinguy is also interested.

What I typically do is have one night where it's about outdoor, moonlight night photography with supplemental light-painting, usually done to add a dramatic effect inside the building or to accent highlights, as in this shot:

Obviously, the Baker is NOT a workable location for that type of photography, so if folks are interesting in that for the first night, I have ideas on some other places we could go.

The second night though is all about interior light-painting, like the shot below, and that's where the Baker is a possibility...

So...if you guys are serious, let me know and I'll work up a price.
