So, which stuff goes on, first? The watery junk or the thick stuff?
| | Anyone know of possible locations in Alabama? < on 10/29/2012 12:19 AM >
| | | We're looking for some more stuff around Alabama, particularly the Birmingham area, and dealing with early development of the city. Old foundries and iron works are always interesting. I've heard there's a couple interesting tunnel systems in the city, too? Also, always open to meeting up with fellow adventurers, though we'd prefer to do the public meet. At a McDonald's, or somesuch, then decide whether to press on to explore, from there.

Just flew back to VA this evening after a whirlwind Bham trip. Amazed we didn't run into you at the green pond. Spent the rest of the day at the asylum...

I never had until recently, but I have a friend who swears that you can enter tunnels from a certain spot in the north end of the city. Claims he spent over 4 hrs down there poking around old mining tunnels and railcar tunnels.

| | | I can think of at least a couple schools in Birmingham. You could also check out Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham as well. Just drive around the city, you will find a lot.

| | | There is a lot of mines, but as for tunnels I'm not so sure about. I've done plenty of e'splorin in the ham never much in the way of drains or other tunnels. We used to say you cant throw a rock in Alabama with out hitting an abandonment.... So if you cant find anything your not really looking... But there is plenty of schools and other fun stuff to find and lots of historic sites some are public access some are not so public.... The woods hide lots of secrets.... As they say Alabama was "The Granny of the south" back during the civil war... so plenty of hiding spots for stuff

| | | Not all schools are going to be the same as carver .... I've been in almost all of them down south .... timing is crucial .... but avoid carver if you know whats best for you .... and if you do get in try to get further than the auditorium or gym
