| | | Hello, I am going to Rochester this weekend. I have researched a few places but want to know your suggestions of awesome places to visit while there. Any suggestions and tips as to how heavily patrolled they are would be appreciated

| | | I was there a couple months ago but I didn't see too much for urban exploration. They have extensive hiking paths along the river. While hiking I saw a couple outfalls that may be interesting. The only problem was that they would be difficult to access without a boat. I also had a feeling that the drains would be fairly plain since they looked pretty new. I could be wrong though.

| | | flour mill, rochester psychiatric, the rochester subway, and many many abandoned houses and businesses are all ripe for the picking. the city is in a continual economic downfall. this is outdated but should give you some idea: http://rocwiki.org/Abandoned_Structures

| | | Thank you for the nice replies everyone. I should have asked about the subway more directly in my initial post. I read that the west end was filled in and looked at the outdated google map of it. How much is left there? It's a really long drive for me so that is why I keep pestering.

| | | I know an explorer that lived there for about a year--only recently moved away from it in fact. He laughed when I asked what there was to see in that area. :-/

You should try posting this to the Northeast forum instead then. We went through the subway a few months ago. The bridge and Court St. station area were always the most interesting parts of the subway, and they are still intact. However, the tunnels have been gutted all the way through and are pretty dull now beyond the bridge.
