Hey I've heard about people doing UE in Chicago and I got really curious with it. I'm new to this whole thing but I really want to get into it. Anyone willing to share some spots/advice for a newbie?

While I'm not from the Chicago area, here are a few pointers for someone who's new to UE:
-Get out and explore, whether it's solo or with a friend. The more you explore, the more you learn, but not only that you'll gain the respect of local explorers, and who knows, you might find a site they've never been to.

-Don't ask for others to share sites with you. Most explorers aren't going to be willing to drop the names of sites to someone they don't know, especially on here. Once you make the effort to meet your fellow explorers in person and show them you've done some exploring on your own they'll be much more likely to show you some sites. Don't expect to be shown an epic site right away. Often times seasoned explorers will show you a drain or something similar and get to know you. If they think you're cool, then they'll introduce you to more.

-Keep up with the forum. UER can provide you with a ton of useful information, whether it's mistakes other explorers have made or things they've learned themselves. Interact with others and play a part in the forum and you'll be sure to learn a lot!

-My biggest advice to you would be to do exactly what you're doing with this thread. Get in touch with your local/fellow explorers. Figure out if they have any kind of meet-up that you can go to. Meeting your fellow explorers in person is a lot of fun and opens up a lot of avenues for you.

Exploring is a ton of fun and it's great to meet others who share that interest. Welcome to UER!

Like you, im not from the Chicago area but driving around you find things. I found a few things to climb just by driving around on the highways/around the city. I suggest you do the same.
