Nice! That place is on my to-do list... I think I will have to wait until at least after Christmas as work is insane right now.

I've been out to Lester several times -- a nice little afternoon trip on a warm summer day. Be advised that there's a third house as well as an abandoned RV way back in the woods on the other side of the tracks. If you don't find 'em, you've missed about half of what there is to see! These are also in much better condition, still having furnishings and other things inside. Apparently, the last resident of Lester, Gertrude Murphy, continued spending her summers there long after the town was claimed for the Tacoma watershed. My guess is that this third house and RV were where she'd been living, as they're by far the most livable of any of the structures there, and it would appear as though whoever left them intended to return.

Wait until spring/summer unless you've got some crazy 4WD vehicle. That whole area is pretty much inaccessible during the winter.

Cheers,
