Oil For My Rusty Heart

Its been very close to twenty years since I left Florida. Just walked away from a bad situation in the dead of night and never returned. For no particularly good reason I finally decided to put some old ghosts to rest, visit with a lost friend and make that long drive down. Somewhere along the way I came across the old Ford graveyard. I talked with some local folks and the story that they gave me was a bit of a local legend there. It seems an old farmer liked to park his worn out Fords on his property by the road to sell for parts. Whenever he beat one to death he just parked it there and got another, and than another and so on. After some years this became an eyesore in the mind of the county officials and they slapped him with fines to remove them. Remove all of them, they hated this. Its bad for tourism they said. Undaunted the farmer sued the county. The bitter legal battle continued for years and the bitter farmer continued to park his worn out Fords as he pleased. Eventually after everything finally played out in the courts he won, and than he died. Even though his battle took years to win the community was behind him and to this very day his family proudly maintains the Ford graveyard there for all to see. One small victory for the little man at last. I would have been content to lose myself photographing here all day but was pulled away far to soon, got to keep moving now.

Thanks Explicitly, at this point its a matter of trial and error, of keeping notes and fiddling with my settings.

And thank you all, it was a somewhat productive trip. I may just have another beer and keep working on Part II to post soon.

I have always wanted to shoot an old auto graveyard and this just came up as the perfect opportunity. I've got my eye on a few others here in Georgia and eventually when I can get some history I will make the trip. Thanks for the feedback everyone.

And I added a linky to Part II http://www.uer.ca/...=1&threadid=104868
