TCI Ensley is located in the Ensley neighborhood of Birmingham, Alabama. Once one of the largest steel mills in the world, today it sits in rustic ruins.

More documents, historical photos, currents pictures and detailed information about TCI Ensley can be found here: http://www.forgott...sley/tciensley.php

Gotta say that I absolutely love love love the historical photos that you dig up on this place. You and Naaman have both posted some nice history on this place. Sad to see so much of it gone now, we can only imagine what it was like in the glory days thanks to you. I'll be there soon enough.

This is a place I've been needing to go back to.

The photos of how it used to be make me want to go back even worse. The old shot with the train cars is super awesome.

Awesome! I love the first of your shots, with the flooded room and pillars.

There's some other stuff too. And if you look real hard there's some super secret hidden awesome stuff. Elements of danger and intrigue, espionage, romance... It's got it all.

u missed it bro

There's a few places that would require rappelling that leads to some lower sections. Not sure what it would lead to, but I'd love to get to the upstairs in the powerhouse and see the controls.

That being said, I much rather have seen this place 30 years ago. It still is cool to realize what it once was.

It's worth the trip. So if you haven't gone... You have missed it. And it's getting less and less for a number of reasons.

So, which stuff goes on, first? The watery junk or the thick stuff?

We thought it was great, though barren. Doesn't look like it sees TOO MUCH regular traffic, but it's been picked pretty clean, over the years, and a lot of structures are missing. We can't wait to go look around more. Might spend sunday checking out some cool stuff around Birmingham, too. Anyone of you guys have any suggestions?

"Well, maybe if we wait here long enough, he'll leave."
"It's 3am and he lives here...wtf, man?"
