| | | I seem to remember, when I was a kid, coming to Omaha along west I-80 while bringing horses here for the Aksarben season, a sign on a hill around the Mahoney area advertising an ski slope of some sort? Does anyone remember that? Was it the Harm Ranch my research keeps digging up? I'm at work so I have no access to Google Earth to double check. Thanks!

| | | I've looked for that thing too, never been able to find it. I thought would be easy to see the chair lifts on google earth but I've never found them which makes me think they took them down.

| | | I think I found out how to get there, more or less... I wonder if anything at all even remains? I talked to a coworker and she thinks the place over in Iowa purchased most of the equipment etc, the rest was torn down. If anyone would like to tag along, I would welcome the company.

| | | yeah I always figured that too because I've combed that area in person and on the web, without much luck. There's plenty of other things to see it the Lincoln/Omaha area (think Atlas F's and D's) that I just moved on. If the lifts or any buildings where still around it might be a different story. But I'm still up for exploring this weekend if any of you people head out shoot me a PM I'll be in Lincoln friday night through Monday.

| | | Just stumbled across this discussion... I think you are looking for the old NebraSKI site. There's nothing left from what I can tell. The area can be accessed from Highway 31. Take a look at: 41.048504 -96.289577 I'm pretty sure that's about the center of the old site.

| | | I was at Nebraski 10 or 15 years ago when they were running paintball games there. I think they had ended their skiing operations by that time, but at least some of the chair lifts were still standing. The ski lodge building is at 41.043223, -96.290190. You can see the old ski runs on google maps to the north and east of that building.

| | | Sucks too. Would have been cool to check it out. I wonder if that building on the south was part of it? On our way home yesterday, I noticed the driveway to it is closed off. More so than urbex, rurex really fascinates me. I've heard of some abandoned/ghost towns around Blair and Gretna. Anyone know about those? | | | The Dillons in Gretna owned it; the lodge is still there, went to a party there a few years back.

| | | Wow - crazy to read about NebraSKI on this site. I was one of the two managers for the 1995-96 season. The plan for the lodge was to do corporate team training, paintball and snow skiing. My area of expertise was outdoor challenge courses and corporate training. I had grown up skiing every winter in Colorado. The other guy had a background in summer camps. The people that owned the lodge decide on Halloween weekend of 1995 that they wanted to open for the ski season that year. We had to go through everything to get it up and running after it had sat vacant for five years. I left in January 1996 to run a summer camp in the area. I don't know what happened to the rest of the business or property.
