Excellent photos! What I love about all of these is that they were from the time before all the gang graffiti and vandalism came. The only "art" you saw on the walls back then were by the CSUMB art students and they actually looked "artsy". Nowadays, it's all ripped to hell with vandalism and gang "crap".

I'm sure glad I got in a lot of Ording back then before all that crap came about.

LOL!, the pool looks quite clean there compared to how it looks now.

Okay, now I see the supports were always there. Someone has just replaced the curtains. Along with restoring the organ for the win!

Beautiful pics as usual, Calvin. Makes me wish I'd started urbexing before this place got to where it is today.

It's too bad really. I think a lot of the fences and signage were put up in response to all of the vandalism and graffiti that appeared in recent years.

On another note: I reliable source inside CSUMB told me the cost to completely remove and clean up just one block of the concrete barracks... around $1,000,000. They may there for a while still.

The plywood on the pool is like the "Do Lung Bridge" in Apocalypse Now.
"Like this bridge: we build it every night. Charlie blows it right back up again. Just so the generals can say the road's open. "
