No, I truly think it is worth it. Risk or no risk, documenting the decline of industrialism and whatnot is something worthy. Talking about potential illegal activities in a public forum is not.

I waited every night for a week at the Beet Scales, no one showed? Curious...

How many times do I have to tell you that we are not talking about anything illegal? THESE ARE LEGAL MEET UPS! You are calling me stupid?

you are so far lost in your lies that you actually are pretending to be an explorer again? you have admitted to not exploring at all, being "happy as an armchair explorer" i think your said or "living vicariously through the explorers here" yet feel you have to give input & faux-advice when its crystal clear what you are doing is....TROLLING.

lots of people talk on this site, not nearly as many here actually do. we have been called lots of things, those who know us call us friend. who calls you friend from here? oh ya you also said that friends can't be made here. i think the source of your claims should come into question. as we have said before we have met & repeatedly explored with many UERers, never turned down an explorer that has wanted to meet us. we don't block PMs from people that disagree with us either. our group is no different than any other explorer group, its a living/changing group that's only prerequisite is exploring.
we get PMs from people asking to go out with us often(also we ask people to take us out) & try our best to meet the people that reach out to us.

i have now read almost all of your posts ever made here. its a very simple task. i have seen how people react to you. ya buddy. i think it stands for itself. i mean you even claim to be an explorer at one point way early on then later you admit to not being one. i don't know how or what to take seriously of the things you say. i can say this: i do not feel safe sharing much with you & am really glad you are BM.

consider the website you are on. honestly this is a place we share our this activity, consider that. trying to scare people into not sharing is a great way for Basic Members like yourself to never see anything of this "hobby." considering your great exploits, contributions & the reactions you get to them here i don't think you are in much of a position to offer advice that many are interested in.

we thought this was a place to openly participate in the planning of meet ups, to build trust & openness here. hence when our plans merged with RMs we offered up what we currently have going, to include him. he has chosen to ignore us & you have chosen to attack us. that sounds elitist to me.

Lets settle down here before Meta locks this one up, as he tends to always have to do in this region unfortunately.

M: you've been unblocked since this afternoon when I read what Alice posted, I am trying to formulate a response to you in a way that we can all start working together again like we used to. It's going to take some time, I hope you didn't think I was ignoring anyone. I've seen a lot of potential from all of us within the past few weeks, including ideas, and how we are responding to each other....all important aspects in rebuilding bonds. I need to teach myself how to be patient with you, since we tend to disagree on many things. I am learning.

A: The second half of your presentation(revolving hosts/location requirement) was actually on my mind but I left it out of my initial post on purpose. We are on the same page : ]

S: Your input about the laws and requirements of police officers is noted and I think it is an important reminder for all of us to keep in the back of our minds. But then again if and when any group does go out, everyone should already be aware of the consequences at stake. For now, I do believe we are only focusing on restaurant/bar atmosphere until some of us active FM's can start bonding with each other and opening up the invites later down the line for everyone else. It is dangerous and a lot of responsibility to lead others especially in this hobby.

Hopefully it's clear to anyone who follows the PSW soap opera. All the uncalled for drama is instigated by just a few here. I think it's up to the rest of us in the PSW to turn a blind eye toward the Trolls. Sure, it's easier said than done. Especially when they call you out by name. If we don't dignify them with a response, all they can do is show more of their asses. Here are some reminders from the elders that were posted in few other threads...

Gonna say it again....keep it to PMs. No one else should have to keep up with this banter. Thanks for the co-operation people!

I'm disgusted at the behavior of the people in this thread.
UER was intended as a place to share and bring people together, not to facilitate hoarding and cliques.

Now back to the topic at hand. Rescueme is mostly on the right track. The advice I would like to give is this; If planning a convention meet up is what you want to do. Then do it! Put it together, then post it on the events page. I don't think starting all of these threads is going to work. Bottom line is... no one is going to help you if you expect them to do all of the work for you.

Sometimes there is much more going on behind the scenes than what you are aware of. And yes, we should have one of these threads open as it is healthy for the community. No one is doing anything for me, we all work together as a team.

How do all you NORCAL locals feel about starting a bi-monthly (once every two months) meetup like some of the other regions do?

I would like to suggest considering longer intervals between meets. My experience in get-togethers (elsewhere for other interests) is that the shorter the interval, the less of a deterrent it is for every potential attendee to flake. Because whenever doubt comes up (i.e. something else to do, lazy weekend, want to sleep in, etc.) the thought that goes through their mind is, "I can always make the next one."

The net result is that shorter intervals result in smaller attendances, but usually of the same core of dedicated (or perhaps dependent) people, and some that vary/rotate between meets. Those sort of meets tend to take on a specific character which may not necessarily be attractive.

The longer the meet intervals, the more "special" they tend to be, the more people will try hard to make those, and therefore the bigger the attendance. It needs to be remembered that we're talking about a region-wide meet. A lot of people are already meeting in small groups (as in hanging out with another explorer), which IMHO is something that should be promoted too. The idea being that if there is an "ideal" to strive for, its a community that meets spontaneously within itself, hopefully to meeting NEW people instead of just returning to the same tried-and-true group (which eventually leads to small trusted groups i.e. cliques)... and occasional region-wide-meets to further mix what might have gone unmixed.

I would also like to suggest that the "meets" are just a shared meal, because everybody loves to eat, and eating is probably kosher. Lunch, perhaps aiming for relatively early on a Saturday, like 11AM. The meet should end early (1-2PM?), so it doesn't monopolize everyone's day/evening, and frees them to do what they would like/need to do for the rest of the weekend, be that running errands, mowing their lawn, or anything else. If people want to show off their new lawnmowers to their new friends over a beer, then by all means. They can arrange that themselves. There's no real need for the meet organizer to micro-manage what people spontaneously do themselves, although he/she can certainly share some ideas.

Just some thoughts, nothing more.

Salinas, you are a stain on the UE community and this forum. No one likes you because of your horrible attitude and non existent people skills. Please go away and keep your negative opinions to yourself. Thank you and have a nice day. Oh and more thing, if ever call another woman a whore in my presence, I'll will personally make sure you eat those words.

Won't miss you.

Using your connection to the Forces as machismo is imho disrespectful of all those everywhere that put their uniform on with pride.

Sad, sad little man.

I’m quite positive that you’ve slept with someone uglier than me, and I’m sure I’ve slept with someone hotter than you. So let’s just call it a draw.

All I have to say is read the whole post, not just the first sentence. You are a douche and have created more problems here than anyone. What a fucktard. Alice suck a dick, you are second in creating problems and because you blow/suck vag on mods you never get banned. I am closing my account because I am sick of all the hypocrisy here. What a bunch of fucking losers that have to run to mods every time their pathetic feelings get hurt. "Ban him he laughed at me." Fucking grow up and leave the exploring to the adults. I swear you are a bunch of fucking 12 year old punks on the PSW forum. No other forum has this fucking problem. THAT SHOULD BE THE CLUE!

Let's see how fast it takes this to get deleted because the mods are afraid of the truth.

bahahahahha I have NEVER reported ANYTHING to the mods. Ever. You do this to yourself. Buh Bye!

boosted,
First picture is of me and my boys a number of years ago. I'm the fat guy with the beard and the yellow hat.
Second picture is of my current uniform and although it is left sleeve, you had better figure out what that means.
Boy, and I use the term loosely, I would mop the entire Bay Area, no the less the block you live with you. Bring it.

well played..
