Consider Your Brothers...

Canada Day Sunday had some killer weather in our parts. With the day winding down and a trip to Bowmanville planned for the next one, we kept it close to home and decided to witness the continuing slow, medieval-like architectural torture of this location. The usual watchful eyes seemed absent or lazy, and we were able to walk around cautiously but with ease. With more having being destroyed, the spaces in between structures were wider than the last visit. Being evening there were some cool long shadows but challenging light.

More broken bones. More skin peeled away. Cables cut and organs strewn. A recent drive by revealed even more of it taken down. Some of these shots just weeks old are now of things gone.

Not long for this place.

These are awesome, though it's always sad when a location gets picked apart during demo. #6 & 7 are killer.

Thanks L'Ali and a-e. Yeah, things are changing daily at this place. It's weird shooting a specific detail only to have it non-existent just days later.

The long shadows in #8 make it the best picture of the set for me. I'm a big fan of the effect and it is probably the reason I piss my entire family off getting up at 5:00 am to get out and be in a location in time for the morning sun. It makes such a difference!

The no skiing sign is great! I wonder what the state of this place is today.

Yeah I laughed like hell at that modified sign. Another building has come down I believe, and the one that has no skin left is being taken apart slowly day by day.

The first time there, there was still a 2nd floor. Week later it was gonzo! People looked at me funny when I said you could get a good pano of the floor.

I go by it almost weekly.. It's heartbreaking watching it go down piece by piece... It's almost torture. At least having a building go down all at once is like a bandaid. You brush it off and recover.

amazing how quickly it's vanishing....I remember being in here while it was fully operational, several weeks and then several months after we closed it down. Such a difference :\
