| | | Very nice. So glad this place still stands. Ive been there a couple times last year. They said they were taking it down but I guess they have other plans for it now. Looks like someone swept the floors. Thanks for posting these. That warehouse and I have some history. I threw a rave there in 1995 when the surroundings were much different. Heres some shots from last year if your interested. First Second I think I'll pay another visit but with my new camera.

Thanks blueshoes. Your photo gallery is quite impressive. I just noticed you got inside the Old Loblaws place also. I have a bunch of shots that i havent posted yet. Took them a few days before they started taking it down. I got one of that exact room with the chairs thats in your avatar lol. Im going to miss that place. I'll post them soon. I wonder what they are planning to do with that Liberty Street Plant. [last edit 6/20/2004 8:17 PM by sigma - edited 1 times]

Unfortunately only the north building. I have a series of photos over the entire demolition period, and I'm intending on putting together a gallery documenting the whole thing. I was in the remains of that building for a few hours last week taking shots and when I get it all done, the gallery will come online. Unfortunately I haven't been into the south building (with all the columns and such).. in time maybe.
I wonder what they are planning to do with that Liberty Street Plant.

Not sure - I believe that entire area used to be the carpet manufacturing area right? Anyways, it was pretty abandoned - I plan to post some pictures of that place fairly soon as well. .blueshoes

| | | Actually I have read that Liberty Street used to manufacture and store alot of the Bombs during WW1 and 2. http://www.city.toronto.on.ca/archives/photographs/f1244/reports/00848.htm Pretty interesting. I know a little bit of history regarding that Liberty Street Plant. Back in the 1940's there was a massive fire there, you can still see some of the burns in the ceiling. I heard this from the Fire Marshall that almost lost his life battling the blaze. Back in 1995 when i held a Rave there he paid us a surprise visit trying to shut us down. He wasnt happy to return to that building believe me. You could still see the scars from the burns he suffered to his body. Freaky. [last edit 6/22/2004 10:53 PM by sigma - edited 1 times]
