So I heard on the news that the ship off of Giglio, IT is still there and will be there for a year at least. So has anyone made any plans to go there or has anyone already made it out there?

If you are talking about the Costa Concordia it is not easy to access. They are still watching it from what I heard and they plan on scrapping it slowly.

*info from one of the IT techs that had their leased equipment on the ship and are not allowed to try and recover it*

*Best Post Ever* any meetups to go to the malt plant? I'll join and be the first one over, so you know I'm not a cop. Also I'll bring beer. *DO NOT MESSAGE ME WITH ISSUES. PLEASE USE CONTACT A MODERATOR*

I heard on the news today they are starting efforts to 'raise' it. Good luck if you can get on.

In the video they show that they are going to build a platform on the non rock side and take a crane and pull it on it. Patch it up and re float it...

Shit like this is why I wish UER had upvotes. Bravo.

Here are even more photos, including photos of firefighters/coast guard on the ship, evacuating, doing helicopter operations, and there is also a picture of the hull puncture: http://cryptome.or...concordia/0041.htm

I hate that people died in this. But photos like this:

Just make it absolutely hilarious. Imagine living here and just like...there's a cruise ship sideways by your home. I just feel like every morning, I would get up...and stare at it a little bit. Surreal looking, really.

that ship is pitched at what looks to be approximately 60-75 degrees, i can't imagine how you plan on walking around on a floor pitched that severely (i suppose you could just carry a shit load of rope...). However it would be awesome to explore a cruise ship this new and, other than the massive quantity of water, completely functional.

Voted most likely to fall from great hights...
