| | | We headed east to hit up a few spots in the big shitty. A win in the west end was followed by a fail in the east, as well as a visit to the Necropolis to satisfy our taphopilic tendencies. We were getting hungry, but decided to hit up one more spot before getting some quality bruschetta and heading home. We knew that this derelict disaster had the potential for hobos and junkies. We'd read about the piss jugs and food scraps. On this day none of these were found. Jerm warned me about the upper level floor's lack of stability. I made it about two-thirds across the spongy surface, walking carefully along where the beams were aligned, before turning back. I did a bit of digging about the history of this location. Seems the cleaners vacated about May 2003. The structure remains partially demolished and the grounds contaminated. There was talk of affordable housing but I couldn't find info more current than from 2009. Prior to the cleaners taking up shop in 1996, there was a metal works fabricator housed here. Going back further, the lot was home to Albert Kerr Co. Ltd. (hides). Thanks for checking out my shots of this dirty place. 1. Cad 1 by Doom vs, on Flickr 2. Cad 2 by Doom vs, on Flickr 3. | | | Good stuff as always MF DOOM! You and RRF and Intrinsic and Ground State are all bringing the goods lately. Giving me a run for my money. Really great to see. [last edit 7/10/2012 11:33 PM by jerm IX - edited 1 times]

Thanks jerm...I'm so far behind on my raw material it's (driving me) insane(r). The west end visit I alluded to will be next.

| | | Nice! There's a lot more crap piled up since the last time I saw this place. My BFF and former roommate, Glitch0010 used to go here all the time when he was bored and I was at work. I always begged him to be careful... the floors in that one upstairs room (with the safe in it) sketched the hell out of me. Good to see you made it out unscathed! lol

Thanks! Although the swiss cheese floor on the upper level did not bring about tragedy, I almost did a tailbone special down the steps you see in 5. The detritus has accumulated on them so that it's more of a ramp than a set of stairs. After mucking up my knee at 30 a week earlier, I didn't need more bodily harm.

| | | Haha rnr. Yup, there's a word for it. I'm big into the Victorian era and their death symbolism/obsessions. Love the tombstone art of that era.

The magic bridge was still there albeit the pool was pretty much dry.
