| | | Traveling Death House < on 6/3/2012 12:56 AM >
| | | The Traveling Death House, seemingly abandoned for decades, save for a few modern items (a television and fitness machine in the living room) This home is littered with pieces of the lives of the family who once lived there, the Death family. Postcards, souvenirs and trinkets from all over the world are strewn about the floors and rooms. Newspapers and magazines from the 1950's, funeral notices and bibles also from the 50's were found upstairs...I opened one bible to find a dried flower and accompanying death notice saved into a specific page..I was careful to leave it just the way I found it. Curiously, I found a disposable camera in the living room.....so tempted was I to take this relic and develop the photo's, but I couldn't do such a thing. This house gave me a creepy feeling from start to finish and one could literally spend hours in there looking through the many fine details and decades old documents that seem to be hiding in every corner and under every random item strewn about. This was a good explore and I thank those who visited before me for making this location known and available. Rockandrollfreak'ed out 1.

| | | "The Port Credit Weekly" ??? Weird....I grew up in Lorne Park and now live in Port Credit....I had no idea we used to have a Port Credit Weekly. Is this in Mississauga, or did they just have a random copy of the paper?? If its in my hood, it definitely isnt looking familiar.

| | | Nice finds in there.... like I told you earlier, I didn't really go through it that much, wish I did. It's funny how that possum looks now from when I was there, it was so fresh, and had a snarl with it's mouth.... now you can see those crazy teeth!!

| | | It's sad to see those memories of births and deaths left unclaimed and forgotten. Did the owner move away and forget these or did they pass away and had nobody to pass them along to? This demonstrates why houses can be so exciting to explore. It's also why many of us prefer not to remove things like this in order that others may enjoy discovering them too. True. And why the hell would you need to take someones history to keep for your own?! It has nothing to do with your life...so just leave it be!

| | | Just like all of us, the family that lived there/owners of the house probably had NO CLUE that something would occur to cause them to quickly abandon their home, leaving so many personally significant things behind.
It's a scary thought but keeping it in-mind may cause us to better appreciate what we have right now.
