|  | | | I'm guessing I'm all alone out here in the Northern Neck of VA; there really isn't a lot to explore, for one, and I'm pretty sure that 99% of the population are snowbirds from Illinois, driving around in the left lane with their right turn signal on... they're not really into the entire urbex scene. After all, they were around when all of my explores were freshly built.
My cohort and I have been doing quite of bit of research and recon, since we're both fresh-back to the sticks, and have found that most of our explores that we're interested in are in the NoVA/MD area.
So, for all of you out there in that area, are any of you interested in a meet?

I would suggest making a meetup.com account and joining "mid-atlantic urban explorers" there's also a Facebook group as well. One of the founding members lives in southern Maryland.

| | | | NoVA here as well. As to Lorton, its there. The Nike was made over as a golf course or park, but the detention center is there.
In my research one building remains from the Nike site and it is repurposed.
