A little mill town that's mostly been reclaimed by nature. It seems fairly well trafficked with beer cans floating in the basement and little foot bridge leading generally towards it. I didn't see it in this here forum so I figured I would share. The pics don't do a great job of showing what's left but a quick google search will find you some of those. Nice if you're in the area (Mima Mounds is right nearby too and that's interesting for all of about 3 minutes) but I wouldn't make a special trip for it.

Courtney Love used to own some or all of Bordeaux, but I think she sold it sometime in the early 2000's.

I love this location. But there are always too many people out there for my taste. Perhaps that's what I get for exploring on Saturday afternoons.

The nice thing about running into people at Bordeaux is you'll often meet old residents who will talk about growing up there and are genuinely excited to see other people interested in their old hometown.

By the way, if anyone is interested in going to Bordeaux on some weekend I'd be happy to take people there since it's a pretty fun little afternoon trip.

never know until you go

Some recent shots from last weekend. The bones were right at the entrance buried and scattered around. What I found incredibly strange was that they were cut up to perfectly to be a buried pet or wild animal. Weird.

This place looks interesting. I might just have to hit up the west coast one day after all.

I enjoyed it, although it was rather hard to find considering the over growth and such. ;)
