Well I wanted to be certain before I came to any conclusions and I'm quite certain now.

No matter how bad I feel, I've never force quit an explore. I can't imagine bad vibes or the jitters feeling worse than that.

It's only happened to me twice. The first time I was with a buddy and we both got the fuck outta dodge (we realized in a rather freaky way that the house we were exploring wasn't as abandoned as we thought), the second time I was alone and just went outside the house and started UEing the barn and shit instead, and felt better. Normally I'm not that much of a chickenshit, but I listen to my gut.

My first exploration came along with the same feelings. I was draining and was so sure I'd get caught or run into someone unpleasant. The thing is, I was more excited about discovering what was ahead that I didn't initially realize I was having the negative feelings I listed above, and because of that they interpreted themselves as the feelings you described. Once you become more comfortable with both your exploring skills and the places you're going those feelings should fade. However, if in the future you're exploring and you get said feelings in a particular room or building, it might be good to look into why, because it might mean you should GTFO.

Actually, if your avatar is where I think it is, the squirrels there almost made me shit. Just started barreling through the lattice work above me, which in turn startled the crows and they took off shrieking.

For whatever reason I thought I was about to be mugged, fucked, or busted. Maybe all three.

Even when nervous stay calm and confident and don't act nervous

Nothing makes people more nervous than their friend acting super nervous. People acting nervous also make cops not believe you were just looking for your dog also.

The hairs on the back of your neck are caused by your close proximity to grues. Just make sure your flashlight doesn't run out of batteries.

If you want to protect the locations you love to explore, don't talk about them online in public!

Honestly, I've only explored a handful of locations and each time I just stopped and listened to the silence, reassuring myself that I was the only person there. One time I was too paranoid and just left, I was just overwhelmed by the place and it freaked me out. I ended up going back the following week and was alright with the place.

A few weeks ago, I was inside one old abandoned house, when I just got the feeling that this place was evil, that something malevolent was waiting for me there.

I lingered a few minutes extra to savour the sensation.

My first explore was an abandoned nursing home. It's pretty well known in the UER community, and it's pretty trashed by druggies. It was a chilly, overcast, and windy day, so it was pretty uneasy wandering around. At one point my friend and I heard a female voice. The thing is, we both knew we were the only two people there.

And I've never explored a hospital, let alone a morgue. I've got a thing about hospitals. Though I want to explore some eventually.

I'll leave if I'm worried about a security risk, or a sensitivity issue such as an evictee who isn't so happy about my presence. But as far as unsettling creepy feelings go, I live for that shit.

When we were there this fucking door kept slamming in the wind. At this point my 'is something here!?' fear had turned into 'are we about to get busted' and we simply jammed the door open with a board so it'd be quiet.

My first explores were more like that, though. I never thought a sound was security or someone, I would think it was something.
