Abandoned High Rise Complex - Georgia

Located in Georgia is this abandoned 19 story high rise, with attached hotel and office complex. Quite a find. The inside is virtually untouched with many TVs, computers(that still have power to them), and various electronics left behind. Some things not pictured that we found include: A pool table(with balls and cue sticks). TONS of glassware(hundreds of glasses) left from the dining areas and bars.

Also located at this site is a large network switch that is rumored to handle much of the Southeast's internet. Many floor to ceiling servers that are up and running. Makes for quite some noise contradicting the status of the rest of the building. This could be the reason why the site is still guarded, with the office above the hotel lobby still in use.

The tower itself was previously used as a hotel of some type, with the top floor containing a few penthouses. We spent some time in one of the penthouses hanging out, enjoying the view.

The pictures included span over three different weekends. Also, all but a handful were taken with a point and shoot, so be nice!

Looks quite pristine, a great find.
I definitely dig the skyline shot.

Awesome location. Keep 'em coming. Next time uncheck the pop-up pictures box. Tends to be annoying for everyone.

Welcome to the forums! Great shots. I have stumbled across this place before and was talking with a couple of the members about heading back there pretty soon.

Last time I was there there were signs of renovations. How abandoned is it now? Did someone turn off that damn alarm near the security office?

It is still rather abandoned. It looked no different the 3 times I have been there. Well, except for the top floor, but heh, that's another story.

And nope! That beeping from the small room is still there. Quite eerie when you first get in.

I feel like the only people who would recognize it would be people who live in the surrounding area, and obviously a visitor of this forum.
The kinds of people who should already have known it was abandoned.

And even before this post you and I and definitely not the only people who knew about it.

Let's rewind. Welcome to UER. You get points for posting somewhere that is not common knowledge and is relatively difficult as your first post. However, this site is more of community than your average forum and we try to educate new members on best practices to preserve the places we love and our access to them. In general posting external shots on a public thread is frowned upon, especially when it's easy to identify the target from the shots. This is a pretty visible location for any and all commuters who go down a certain freeway every day, and even though the risk seems minimal to you, those of us who have watched some of our favorite spots locked down by security or dismantled by scrappers would prefer a certain level of paranoia. If you show people around here that you can be trusted you will see some really cool shit. If no one trusts you, you're not gonna see anything.

Especially coming from that thread about some guy on rails trashing and scrapping a well known place recently.

Well I didn't mean to cause any problems.
I would be glad to remove this post and repost it without the exterior shots before too many people see it.
