Fiat 500

Had a flight into Winnipeg last week, rental car options were something from Hyundai, Toyota...or a Fiat 500. I made them hold the Fiat for me.

i'm in the habit of mashing the gas pedal a bit, and this thing just had no balls. However, comparing it to my daily, totally not fair.

Once I stopped laughing after about an hour of driving, and once I got past the fact that EVERYONE looked at me in that little thing, it turned out to be a fun little run about. If I had a wife that needed a run around town cute econobox, it'd be on the list for sure!

Fiat - win

The second one I ever saw around here was wrecked on the freeway. The day after I saw it in the accident it had had, I saw it on the other side of town by a body shop.

I'll hold off for the Abarth version.

Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing.

I rented one a couple months ago. Was a fun little ride. For the price, I can see it being an appealing car... but I wouldn't buy one.

I love them, and they are EVERYWHERE in Ontario. I see about 10 Fiats for every Chevy Cruze. (That makes me feel warm inside)

Did I say I hate the Cruze and it's a flaming piece of shit? No sir. I just saw more Fiats, and prefer the Fiats to a Cruze. It's cool seeing a "new" manufacturer (at least not on these shores, since... 1980?) and doing so well.

Should that be assumed anyway? Yes.

hahaha... well... I'll just go with the Fiat is less of an appliance, and actually has some character.

Having said that, the Cruze probably sucks.

I mean, the Fiat probably sucks, too- it's a Fiat. I've owned two, they aren't known to be good but they're pretty awesome. Fiat DOES stand for "Fix it again, Tony!" But at least it's cool.

Can you please whisper to my mom's truck and make it stop being such a horrible piece of fuck? It's just so terrible. And I feel bad, because I'm the one who recommended it to her. ('06 GMC 1500)

I whispered that to my BMW....it didn't listen. I've decided yelling at it is a much better option.

How can something SOOOO fun to drive break down so fucking much, and be so expensive every time?

I have to admit, I've owned a pile of BMWs, and loved them all, but they were never really fantastic cars, there was always some little issue I was always chasing. Except for my '72. It was reliable.

Little issues I can deal with....
two big issues in 4 months I can not.

First time the timing chain guides went for a dump. The plastic guides seperated from their metal bracket, leaving the timing chain to slap loosely metal on metal. $6200

Two days ago, extreme cold temperatures of -45 and the oil seperator froze up and well that was that. Oil spewing more or less straight through the exhaust... hello super white cloud of smoke! $1800

I said it last time, but this time i mean it..... For Sale! NOW
Driving a Tahoe, Escalade or Hummer is going to be so little fun compared to the X5

but they will be cheaper and easier to fix!

Come to think of it, the only thing that has fuxored on my brothers' 05 Tahoe LTZ Z71 is the security system and that was just a resistor. My mom's 04 Silverado was bulletproof as well... although they have WELL documented problems with the heater fan.

Why the hell does BMW need an oil separator? Are they cooling the hot oil with water or something?
