Yup. Loved the geologist though.

However, I am kinda disappointed that because of this movie, Guillermo Del Toro will not be bringing Lovecraft's At the Mountains of Madness to the screen...I have a feeling I would have enjoyed that more than Ridley Scott's film, but honestly they are both fantastic filmmakers. http://io9.com/590...s-of-madness-movie

Haha he was awesome. He was pretty obviously an early version of Hudson, but I enjoyed him. Speaking of copying from the early movies, the basket ball scene? I doubt he made the shot like Ripley actually did in Resurrection though.

That.... is quite possibly the most depressing thing I have heard in a long time.

I liked it, although I have my criticisms. I wanted a little more "Alien" and a little less creation-of-man story. I admire their ambition, but it was too grandiose for my tastes. Visually it was pretty unbelievable, and I didnt even see it in 3D. Tempted to go see it at the IMAX. It would be worth it for the space-ship crash sequence alone Take it for what it is. Besides, there isn't nearly enough good sci-fi out there

finally saw this movie... Apparently, it was released on DVD in Europe already. I snagged, er, torrented a DVD rip from the ether of the internet. Honestly, I liked it. The pacing was a little off, but it picked it up. However, it did feel like it was trying to be three different movies at once. Not that that is a bad thing, it's just not what I was expecting. One of the bitches I had read about was that the crew just seemed like cardboard cutouts. I agree, although at the end, several shone. and yes, the geologist was a laugh. What i did like was the way things were left open for a kick ass sequel. I think Prometheus made enough at the box office to warrant a sequel... ;) going to watch it again and make some more observations. (I think Lance Henricksen should've played Weyland, by the by)

I can't believe I missed out on this movie when it was out in theaters. I enjoyed it very much. That one scene in the ship where she...eh...had to self repair her mid section was brutal.

that's an understatement... did you hang around for the when the, um, self-repair made a 'reappearance'? I found it moderately disturbing.

Lol!
It made you squirm and squeal like a girl. I can't figure out why though. The whole self repair thing should have bothered me a lot more than you.

Yeah, as a Lovecraft fan, it saddens me deeply. Don't know why it would be a big deal though, since the Elder Things' creation of the precursor to man was like a minor footnote that the story could survive without.

What part was this? Was it after the credits? I just remember when she was stapled then that was it

I feel the same - and when did Hollywood ever care about story overlap? They remake everything - everything is rebooted, relaunched, reimaged, why does ATMOM have to suffer?
