Yeah. I picked up on that. He basically said that he's surprised there's so many new female explorers, cuz exploring is illegal.
A very, very stupid comparison to make.
Obviously he's never met Aurelie, or a handful of the other ladies on here.
What a tard-muffin.
(welcome, Sarah. Abby is awesome and I've explored quite a bit with her, if you have questions related to mines at all, one or the other of us, or quite a few other folks here on the forum should be able to hook you up with some good info)

Thanks Therrin, and Abby I've been shifting slowly through the mine photographs at the link Abby gave me, and it's interesting, looks like a lot of fun too. Depending on the mine there's either a lot of hiking, or spelunking, or sightseeing. I love that there's background information on the mine and equipment. I'm certainly interested in looking into it further. I rather doubt there are many mines in my area, but I'll try asking around. Though I certainly wouldn't want to try exploring one without some seasoned company. Thanks for sharing!

My name is Stephen and I'm 21 and live in Texas. I mainly explore around Dallas and Arlington, where I live and go to school respectively. There's not much underground here so my real joy is heights, I really love rooftops and cranes, basically anything with a high view. Most of my experience is around UT Arlington and a few miscellaneous building from vacations but I want to get more into exploring now. I'm a amateur lock pick (I can really only do padlocks at the moment) and I'm also a big scuba diver, which I view as another form of exploration and will be getting my cave/wreck certification once I save up some money. I'm not a big photographer and the camera in my phone is shit but maybe I'll try to do more of it for my profile. I've also been arrested for trespassing once and the roof I was on wasn't even a very good one :/ but don't worry I'm normally very cautious and safe about that. I guess I joined because I want to make urban exploring a bigger part of my life and doing it with other people is a lot more entertaining.

Hi, I'm Therrin.
Erm.... So I'm really not new here. But a couple days ago I just moved to Northern Illinois. So, not new, just living in a new place.

You will be missed in the Pacific Southwest region. Thanks for sharing your extensive knowledge of local mines over the years. And also for documenting that one wind farm.

Abby is amazing. She is very knowledgeable, wise, and willing to help. I was once interested in basic mine exploration and Abby, as well as some other kind users, gave me some thoughtful advice. Here's a link: http://www.uer.ca/...urrpage=1&pp#post5

Sadly no If you're talking about where I think you're talking about, and you haven't been out to it yet, you'll absolutely love it. It's quite an amazing place. I was completely blown away my first trip out there. I have to carry the torch to the minions of the Midwest. I'll be back in two years

Awwwww, ty. There were several people I wanted to get together with and take to a few mines before I left and it just didn't quite come together in the last several weeks. Had a lot going on trying to get ready for the move. I'll look forward to seeing y'all when I get back out there! Feel free to hit me up for any more info in the SouthWest region in relation to mines though.

Hello everyone, I'm Garak. I'm new to UER, but not to the sport. Originally from SA, I moved to the UK 10+ years ago, but am now back in my old haunt. I picked up UE a couple of years back in some off-time I had, and haven't looked back since. I also tried some lockpicking, but I suck at it. I've not been back in SA long, and have yet to find anyone in my area (I'm in the vicinity of Marion), so if you're reading this and are interested in going and doing somewhere, hit me up.

we do not speak of or encourage such activity around these parts. Keep it on the DL. Brings bad publicity to the sport, and raises suspicion amongst the public as to the belief that urban explorers are criminals.

While we detest lockpicking and all of its illegality and bad press, we are all for cockpicking. So he may find some useful info in the cockpicking user board, to enhance his skill and techniques. (at cockpicking)

No worries, I gave it up anyway, so you'll hear nothing further on the subject from me.

Yes, it's the place you are thinking of with the people you are thinking of. You will be missed. It's my first trip there but I'm guessing it won't be the last from the sound of it. It sounds like four days won't be enough... Too bad you'll be missing out on some of the Dutch Oven treats we are going to cook up. Looks like it's going to have a pretty good turnout. Take care! Ahhhhhhhh, Abby, your dutch oven treats are SOOOO AMAZING! I am sad to be missing out on THOSE especially! I'm sure you'll enjoy camping out there. The mill building we stay in is quite comfy. I saw that quite a few people were showing up for that one, I just happen to be about 1500 miles away at the moment, so I don't think that'll work. I ran into a mine (unexpectedly) in Colorado that my g/f and I would both love to head back to at some point. It'd be nice to have you and/or some of the others along for that one, but we'll have to see how things go

Funny though, knowing such techniques can be legal and useful. For example, my ex or son (both deny it) lost the key to my gun lock rendering my gun a paper weight. After a bit of research and practice I was able to remove it. It saved me a trip to the locksmith and a few greenbacks. Abby Normal

Funny! For the longest time I avoided that forum because I didn't realize that it was actually a misspelling. I thought it was some nasty sub-forum that someone had started. A Colorado trip sounds interesting! I can imagine that a few explorers would be interested in a trip like that. Abby Normal
