Hello,

I'm relatively new to all of this...have been on 5 separate adventures thus far, plus an additional exploration in Waltham before that facility got closed down...unfortunately we didn't make it in. My interests are really in the types of places that people's lives have been tied to, resorts, hospitals, amusement parks and schools being the top destinations I('d) like to explore. I'm also becoming more adept at camera work, though my kodak easy share pales compared to the DSLRs of my friends.

Who's your friend there?

For real. My only claim to any semblance of uniqueness is that I am a public health researcher and can potentially get access to some spots for "research/academic" purposes.

So, MA doesn't want landscapers to get killed by falling hospitals...but they also want to keep grass at a controlled level to reduce the risk of fire...so they hire goats to do their bidding. Ran into these guys at a spot a few weekends ago...the guy was pretty cool, let me and another board member hang out with a newborn even. Sweet animals.

Hey, my name is Mike, and I’ve been lurking this forum for a little over four months. It’s stellar knowing that there’s other people who appreciate urban infrastructure as much as I do. Whether it’s a 14-story office building or a string of abandoned above ground subway platforms, I’m always exploring it.

I’m currently living in New York City and I’m officially getting into the Urbex scene. Though I sometimes scope out places on my own, I find it much more reassuring when I have another person I could fall back on. If there’s anyone in or around the city who wants a partner to go exploring, PM me anytime; I’m your man.

Hi, all.
I'm Kendy and I live in Atlanta and have been anxious to get into UE for some time now. I'm kind of scared to go out on my own (even with a friend in tow), and am hoping that maybe at some point, I'll have the guts to put on my boots and go exploring.
I'm still trying to figure out how to look for things on this site.
I'm really not very techno-savvy, but I'm fun, up for adventure and make an awesome cheesecake. That's it in a nutshell.

Thanks!
K

Hello there! My name is Siobhan and I am based out of London, Ontario.

I still remember the first abandoned building I ever remember noticing; a ridiculously old TINY house in Mississauga with nothing around it. I must have been around 5 and my mom told me it was empty because the dwarf that lived in it had met a giant who she eventually married and had to find a bigger home. That is when my obsession started.
When I was 15 I explored my first storm drain. By 16 I had been obsessed with an abandoned house in my town that had a layout which made NO sense and a mini hedge maze. In college I discovered the abandoned Psych ward in my new town. When I graduated and moved to Victoria, BC in 2010 I went on an adventure with a friend in Sooke Pothole holes to discover this gem.

A resort that was never complete built on the side of a huge cliff with a gorgeous view of a waterfall. I was amazed that this was left to succumb to the elements.
I wanted to see more!
A few more explorations since than but never was aware it was a "thing". After a life changing event several months ago and a urge to escape this day and age where people are absorbed by video games, movie stars, and cellphones. I considered building my own Delorean to go back in time, but I opted for exploring old forgotten buildings instead which led me here and a few other places through google. Since then my camera hasn't left my side cause I don't want to miss an opportunity like I have so many times in the past.
Can't wait to meet some of you! and my apologies for the long write up

Hello all,
I'm a 20 year old from Oregon. Currently in college in Corvallis.
Met a friend here, he told me about another friend he had back home that was getting in to UE, we both agreed we would join it together.

Last night we had our first time, an old abandoned structure we explored at night, on the edge of some farm by the look of it. My friend snapped only a few photos with his iphone, and I personally don't have a camera, (except for my horrible Rumor 2 phones blurry camera), so I promise that when I get the necessary equipment I will return and document it for other explorers.

Looking forward to being an active explorer.

Well, I do not recall having posted here when I first arrived and pretty much jumped in to regular forum discussion. Still, I like the idea of giving a broad shout out.

What brought me here months ago was my friendship with WalkingFumble. A couple months ago we setup a meet in his general area and joining us was Anaklusmos and my cousin from the south of my state.

Hands down, this was an excellent time. Sadly, I only had one overnight and one day but in that time we explored an old Nike site and an old hospital. Nike we got inside and around the property and the hospital we only did the exterior on this trip. It was a Monday and workers were about due to the property also having a functioning part of the extensive facilities.

As it had been years since I had explored, I was very pleased to meet up, strengthen a friendship and form another.

What I find is the true people who follow the code of explore and leave only footprints tend to be some of the better people I know. There is a respect one has to have in their character to naturally fulfill this. In a world full of anger and destruction, it is pleasing to take the time to explore and learn about what one had visited.

Though in Virginia now, I grew up in the coastal zone of Southern California. Back then I explored a lot with friends, but we did not use cameras or really research where we were. We were just exploring for the fun and memories are rich.

Having had a long time interest in photography I have added this to my explore kit. In fact, I carry two cameras in addition to my phone in my car.

At the time of the explore with Fumble and Anak, I used my cell and my new Canon. The pictures actually show this is the case. Since then I have added a sony dsc f717 and a sony dsc f707 to my photo arsenal. I favor this now despite it being older due to the true excellence these have for lens as well as the nightshot ability. As an aside, if you are seeking one of these, go for the 717. They are pretty identical save for the media stick. The 717 takes larger media that is more readily available.

So, with that Be well.

I'm brand new to the form and only recently discovered that urban exploring is a real thing that people love. I use to explore alot when I was a teenager and would like to do it more as an adult. I saw some pics on another site showing abandoned amusement parks and old buildings and so on. I fell in love with the beauty and charm of peeling paint and rusting metal. I love the idea of looking at a place that played a role in peoples lives and trying to imagine what it must have been like then.
Maybe I'm romancing it a bit but I've been bitten by the bug.

Hey! 21 M here, always wanted to get into this and just now getting the means, going to try a place or two with some other first timers/rookies in the next few weeks. Will have lots of questions, try to help where I can, and hope to start doing this regularly. Not sure if there are many/any other explorers in my area though. Eventually hope to get enough material to photograph a really interesting location that I will need permission to get to.

Hello all, I am Jason from Ohio.
I have gone exploring a couple times with my brother and friends, and I think it is a blast! Something about finding a location and a way to get inside, then covering all the ground inside (especially if it is a big one) makes me excited. This is my first post on these forums, and I am hoping to find people in my current area (Cleveland) to explore with on the weekends. I see lots of abandoned buildings when I am driving around up here so I am sure we could check some out.

Hello

My name is Amanda and I have had a genuine interest in becoming part of the UE community for some time now....unfortunately work, school, life has gotten in the way but I am more motivated than ever now and would love to make some good contacts in the UE community...particulary with those involved in the Detroit UE scene who want to give a genuinely interested newby some guidance...

I have been made aware of, respect, and comprehend the general UE code of conduct and am ready to explore while playing by the rules whenever possible...

A little background, I am a 32 year old woman, living in Ferndale, I am about to graduate with a Bachelors of Science from the College of Ed. @ Wayne State Univ w/ a major in Social Studies and a minor in History...I am particularly interested in Detroit history and am hoping to make a contact with someone who legitimately wants to show somoene w/ genuinely educational UE intentions the ropes...

If thats you, let me know!
