I just sold my 2005 Kawasaki Bayou 250 this morning for $550. When I went to start it, i noticed that I had left the petcock on which on that machine is a no-no. So starting it was a bear that required I change out the spark plug. It also had month-old gas in it and it was cheap gas to boot. My brother came down, looked at it, listened to it run and said that the gas should be changed and the carb cleaned and that it was not a really big deal. The people still bought the machine. My question is, do you folks think I screwed these people?

If you told them the issues upfront and they still agreed, your fine.

Nope, as is where is. Plus it doesn't sound like you were hiding anything. Oh, and BTW that quad would have went for a grand or more around here. Running badly or not at all, still around $800. Prices for used quads here are stupid.

the post to this story was that after my brother had come over to figure out why it was starting so hard, he began to ask me questions, difficult questions... LOL basically, a while ago, i had changed the spark plug and never gapped it. All this time, the 'odd problem' was a shitty spark plug. So far, as far as I know, they haven't had a problem getting it running.
