Well done. I think we can all appreciate the effort that went into getting that photo.

Thanks Redux, the image is actually a composite of five photo's stacked. Salami Avenger was positioned on a lower roof about four blocks north, he took the photo and did the post edit. I did the climb. The level I wrote Junix on is the 60th floor, thankfully there was a sky bridge at 51 over to the crane. The light paint was done using a 3.5 million candle power spot light. Salami and I worked out a signal as to when he should open the camera shutter. At one point up there I heard sirens coming close but figured oh well, I'm here may as well finish. The idea is a hommage to Kevin/Junix as a number of years ago him a toad and dogyears did the aumc shangra la light paint. I thought it would make for a fitting tribute. Very much appreciate the compliment.

For a second I thought this might've been in the old Continental Hotel on Granville they're tearing down (photo from Hilite above). Has anyone gone in since it was shut down?

I thought it was really cool, iv wanted to check out the mines since I was a kid. We were visiting some friends in Princeton anyway, so we went up there. It was sunny the whole time, but literally out of no where it turned into a heavy downpour and lightning. I recommend it, we had a lot of fun. We were going to stop at Camp Defiance too on the way up (its in the ue database), but it's so overgrown I couldnt remember where it was. There are a few small cabins at Manning right now that are boarded up too, but nothing worth going out of your way for.

I have a house in Hedley and I take our ATV's up into the mountains on the long weekends to search for abandoned towns, I have found a few and they are insane. The mine is pretty dope I like it up there.

All this talk about mines motivated me to actually leave the house yesterday.
North Portal. After going around a long bend, enveloping blackness! I was under-prepared with only a flashlight and a camera. My research said it was only a couple kms, so I went to the end. Pretty much just a long tunnel. Lots of tire tracks, a few pieces of equipment left to rust. The air flow was really good, because the tunnel is open at the other end too. The south portal was up a winze, and so because I didn't totally trust the ladders (and I was by myself), I didn't climb up.
Exploring a mine gets kind of boring, after walking a few kilometers with this view. At least getting lost wasn't a concern.

Awesome pics. If were ever on the Island will give you a shout. I can see us going in 1-5 years. Small or big anytime under ground is a good time.
