Dam shame!

Nice find Austtie.

Haha, clever Thanks Talisman.

The St. Francis Dam Disaster was the most fatal single incident in California history after the Great San Francisco Earthquake.

That's crazy!

On October 29, 1953, BCPA Flight 304 flying from Sydney, Australia to Vancouver, Canada, crashed while approaching a scheduled stop at San Francisco International. All 19 aboard, eight crew and 11 passengers, were killed when the Douglas DC-6 smashed into the Santa Cruz Mountains. The Civil Aeronautics Board has stated that foggy conditions near Half Moon Bay or radio navigation errors had likely disoriented the pilot and caused him to descend at the wrong location. The victims were mostly Australian or British citizens, as well as American famed pianist William Kapell. Authorities had to clear paths through the thick undergrowth the recover the bodies, and much of the shattered wreckage still remains scattered nearby. Many of the paths are now trails, and a small monument has been placed near the center of recovery operations.
