Since I work waaaaay too much I need to be able to cook and consume my food in a short period of time. Since we absorb nutrients more efficiently in juice form, smoothies seem like the ideal way to go. Here's two that I have toyed around with. Sorry for the really crappy cell phone pictures
1 ripe banana, 6 strawberries, 1 tsp raw honey, 1 tsp raw cacao nibs, some ice, and a bit of water
1 banana, 1 orange, a handful of baby spinach, 1 tbsp ground flax seeds, about 1/2 cup water. Surprisingly yummy and refreshing! The original recipe I found called for 4tbsp of Hemp Protein Powder, but we were out. I also plan to try this with spirulina Post yours! (even if they aren't super healthy )

One whole grapefruit with half a lemon squeezed, handfuls of ice with a squirt of honey. So good.

Update! Tried three new versions of this. New ingredients in bold. 1- 1 banana, 1 orange, handful baby spinach, water, 1 tbsp flax seeds, 1 tbsp hemp protein powder = pretty sweet, but yummy. 2- 1 banana, 1 orange, handful baby spinach, water, 2 tbsp hemp seeds (no shell) = awesome because hemp seeds are awesome. Protein + omega-3s! 3- 1 banana, 1 orange, handful baby spinach, water, 2 tbsp hemp seeds OR 1 tbsp ground flax seeds, 1-2 tsp spirulina = also awesome. Spirulina smells funky, but doesn't taste bad. You really can't taste it that much in the smoothies. Now for my new one:
2 oranges, 1 mango, juice from half a grapefruit (I used a cheap juicer and added some pulp) 1 tbsp raw honey, ice. This one is soooo goood Good amount of vitamin C and A too!

Variation: 2 oranges, 1 mango, 1 banana, 1 tbsp hemp seeds, ice. No picture because it looks the same as above. Very tasty even without the hemp seeds. I just threw those in there for extra protein and nutrients.

I used to work at a smoothy bar when I was in college.... one of my favorites sounds strange but soooo good: Sour cherries, muslix cereal soy milk and honey .... we called it short cake also anything with pineapple, mango banana and orange juice is awesome for a hang over! we also did a gazpacho style "smoothy" frozen onions cucumber, bell pepper, celery blended with tomato juice, balsamic vinegar a touch of olive oil salt and pepper .... AMAZING! I got so many combos in my head!

<3! Another variation to the green smoothie: all of the previous ingredients plus some broccoli. It's actually really good.

I saw on your fb the grapefruit juice with blueberry honey - how much of each do you put in the blender?

You ladies using grapefruit in your smoothies - it can have ... interesting effects on oral contraceptives, at least. Check yours to avoid a surprising surprise ;) I like smoothies and it's high time I break out my blender again. For some reason I have two, somebody come get one from me. I can never put enough strawberries into a smoothie.

Grapefruit can actually interfere with quite a lot of prescriptions. I'm not on any though so I didn't think about that.

I didn't use a blender for that. I juiced 6 grapefruits with a cheap citrus juicer like this: http://www.amazon....=1318461638&sr=1-7 I actually don't measure things much when cooking. I usually just toss in what seems right or what I know I will like. I'm a bad cook Basically what I did for the honey was heat up some water (1/2 cup ish?) on the stove then pour in some honey. I don't really know how much I used. 3-4 tbsp? Don't heat the water too much. Just warm it up and stir in the honey until it mixes with the water. Then take it off the stove, pour into the juice, and mix. Juice!
Also! This only stays fresh for about 2-3 days.
