I Liek Tuttles

Definitely not Jonathan the Zombie.......but I do like them.

I'd like to get this pair to breed but females can store eggs for up to 4 years waiting until conditions are right before laying them. Although doing some reading it might happen faster since they are in captivity. Anyone else keep pet turtles?

I got a couple of big old water turtles, and a Russian desert Tortoise. I'll try to post up a shot or two, if I can find some.

You can see a million miles tonite, but you can't get very far.

Nice shots Zombi951. I'm glad someone else likes the slow moving little buggers. I've had a couple of them around every summer since I was old enough to take care of them. I'm down to only one right now, I had 6 earlier this summer. Their population in my area is down right now so I keep males and females together as they are more likely to breed in captivity and when their food intake in optimal. I keep them well fed let them do their thing for a month or 2, then release them back in the area that I got them from. I'd really like to see them lay eggs and see the little turtles but from what I read its pretty rare to have them lay this late in the year they will likely wait til spring.
