Same here man. Life gets so busy so fast eh? Anyways, The Merch is getting completely gutted on the inside and renovated into affordable housing and classrooms. They have a website http://www.themerch.ca/

Also, my apologies, I stand corrected. There's two on-going demos and one potential demo happening in the future. The other on-going demo is of a washroom facility in a city park (PM me for details) and there's a proposal to tear down a community center and replace it with, wait for it.... drum roll... condos! Again, PM me if you wanna know more.

All day road trip!

Couple of deserted dirt roads and hours of driving.
Was rummaging through the pile of garbage and came across someone's grade 10 school work from 1919.
Really cool trip through time.

Yeah, exactly! I seem to wonder that at every old house I visit.
Who lived here, why'd they leave?
Did so and so fail or pass his course back in the day?
One will never know lol.

Rummage more, find out what school they went to, explore, find it abandoned, find so and so's permanent record, find out if they passed or failed, fall asleep feeling accomplished.

On a side note. Old farmhouses are cool as feck! I see a ton of them every time I head down one of the lesser used 2 lane highways. Some real solid looking brick homes too. Makes you wonder indeed.

I hear you! It's amazing what people leave behind when they abandon their places.

The hardest part is stumping upon places before the vandals and no-gooders do... sigh.

100 year old Nurses Residence.

The building has been partially renovated and is still used today (the basement on the other hand, looks like it hasn't been touched in years).

The last photo is of the tunnel leading from the residence to the hospital. I was told by staff that years ago, it used to be used to move linen between the two buildings.

hey everyone! would like to introduce myself to all you winnipeg explorers. I've been living in a small town in ontario for the last five years, I have finally returned home to good old peg city.

I did A TON of exploring out there. it's actually where I discovered te amazing hobby. but that's another story. anyone who knows ontario knows that there are a lot of really cool abandoned places. they don't seem quite as fast with the bulldozers out there. seems like winnipeg likes to tear down it's history pretty quickly.

I had an amazing opportunity to explore quite a spooky old house in east k back in september. (my lack of presence on this site saddens me, uggh), but alas, it was quite the rush. I had wondered about that "haunted house" since I was a little kid. pics aren't on my cell, but I'll be pulling out the laptop ASAP to share some stuff with you guys.

anyways, would anyone like to meet up and do some exploring? last I checked the east k house is still accessible, I could show you that place and start off a day of adventure, if anyone needs an exploring buddy I am down, don't be shy with sending me a message.

now time for a scout. cheers all.
