Just a quick hi and a re-reintroduction to the group. I've been here before but couldn't load any pics so I bailed, but I'm back. Anyhooooo.....Ive been around for a while now. One of my first explores was the CNCP building at Portage and Main that was cleared to build the TD building at 201 Portage, so I've been around, but it's always good to get out more. Ran into my first other explorers on a mission at the soap factory the other day and it's been years since I've bumped into anyone. I usually go alone or with one partner, but maybe time to branch out and meet some more explorers( when I started this we were just called trespassers ) share some stores and more of my pics. I want to add to the DB but can't yet but I'll wait. And this is the worst toilet I've seen. In the basement of what used to be Mitchell-Copp. Funny thing about that was that the back door was open for months while the front was all caged up....went a few times. 1.

Kicking myself over the Mitchell Copp. Shame about the Lord Selkirk getting torched like it did. I got a few pretty terrible pictures of it before the fire but never got on board. When's the next meet-up supposed to be? Be neat to hear some of your stories cheesestealinrat. I only got into this hobby once I got my license around 07/08 so there's much I've missed.

I'm good for almost any night, just need a bit of warning. Here's Mitchell-Copp's interior main floor. It was a cool maze of metal ladders to go in where that street front glass used to be. A climb by ladder straight to the top then the ladder maze from the top level down inside. Lotsa pigeons.......

I like the poem! Been really worried about that place as there seemed/seems to be some recent work of some sort done right near there hopefully it will continue to wait with no action for many more years to come. It's one of my favorite places.

Less than a month before the event I am organizing in Brandon! You people from Winnipeg need to sign up! Grow some balls and tell your girlfriends you'll be gone for a couple of days. Here's the link to the event: http://www.uer.ca/...nt.asp?eventid=756
"Stone buildings will be among the last to disappear when we're gone. As the fleeting materials of modern construction decompose, the world will retrace our steps back to the Stone Age as it gradually erodes away all memory of us." |
