I've been interested in this too for a while. Without giving away too many findings, here's some starting points for you: 1. The occasional response still pops up on this thread. Lots of speculation etc on here, but seems like some people (e.g. hydro workers) actually know of some. Take any info you can from here and look into it more, contact people, etc: http://www.topix.c.../TGTR71T5LNN1QDI0S 2. Browse the past winnipeg thread. Some spots have been found/explored/detailed here. 3. Archives/Building plans/Contacting those who would know

thanks a lot for these links. it seems like theres quite a bit downtown worth looking into as for u of m, i know at least one steam tunnel was converted into a pedestrian walkway (http://www.antiqua....php?showimage=184) makes me wonder where the unconverted ones have ended up

U of M has a whole system of pedestrian walkways that carry the steam/water. There are crawl spaces under many of the buildings. I found a PDF a while ago that listed them all, but can't find it atm, try searching around. They're all filled with asbestos though, you would probably want a suit to go in those. Check out RRC, skullkid found some good tunnelage under there that is discussed in the WPG thread part 1. Look around the smaller/older buildings at U of M, you'll find some cool little things here and there

I just did my first UE today in Point Douglas. http://flic.kr/s/aHsjzNKKWo Found some camps by the riverbank that looked recently used. Didn't see anyone though. I recommend anyone in Winnipeg check it out if you haven't already. For my next UE I'm thinking St. Norbert Monastery and Stone Wall Ruins.

So how much of that point douglas site actually burnt down? There were quite a few buildings there closely built together.

Great shots! That old furnace/oven looks sweet. As for the steam tunnels, there`s one that goes under the Engineering building and across to the old residence. Couldn`t get past the locked door on the res side though

Ya, I was surprised to find it. I think it's a furnace that used heat the building. I explored a bit of the u of m tunnels. Did you find that oldschool elevator near that playcare place? It's under university college.

I'm sad to see that the Lord Selkirk was a victim of arson. I always wanted to explore an abandoned ferry. Too bad I'll never get the chance now.
