We've got a couple of weeks people, get to your favorite unseen abandonment now:

'Awesome, it's the end of the world': Doomsday campers travel the country preaching the Apocalypse...on May 21

By Daily Mail Reporter

Most people like to push thoughts about the end of the world to the back of their minds, hoping that the apocalypse, if it ever comes, will be a long way off.

But for one group of not-so happy campers, doomsday is a lot sooner...May 21 to be precise.

According to the predictions of the Family Radio ministry, on that date a massive earthquake will shake the world apart, littering the ground with 'many dead bodies'.

I don't understand the point of leaving your 10 children and wife of 53 years to tell people the world is going to end. Especially when they don't even know how to guarantee anyone a spot in heaven. Kinda pointless.

If you truly believe in God you should know that the end of the world is not predictable. Even if you don't believe, you know its not predictable. Now, thats not to say something may not happen, collapse of a civilization, etc. But it won't be the end of the world. No one knows the hour or the day. It will just happen when it happens.

the world is not going to end... change, yes... end, no.
i do, however, feel that civilization is due for a high colonic, or at least some chlorine in the gene pool.

No, I think this is it folks and I suggest, on the 21st, NOT traveling in any motorized transportation that is operated by anyone other than a confirmed sinner.
We're all criminals on this site and will not be ascending so we may drive at will, but be very suspect of those goody-two-shoe types, rapture comes and you sir/ma'am are out of a driver/pilot. Be careful and I'll see you out there exploring all those vacant homes and churches.

I wonder what his excuse is going to be on May 22. I suspect he'll lose some followers.

True, but they explain that on their web site: www.wecanknow.com

I already set up the party. We're drinking till dawn, then going looting.
I ardently hope they are right, and that every one that thinks they are going goes. I need a new 72" TV and BlueRay...

Oh! And the one extra-crazy fundy up the hill has more guns than me! Come on, vanish you bastards!

Talk to me after you've sired ten children, and have been married to the same woman for 53 years. According to my math, I have 63 reasons.

PSalon article

the Biblical Flood took place on May 21 in the year 4,990 B.C. ... And the 7,000th anniversary of the biblical deluge, by his math, falls on May 21, 2011.

Uhh, I think he may have some math issues.

I think his excuse is some BS about the calendar, the year zero, etc.

I wonder if also included these facts in his calculations:

  • December 31, 1750 was followed by January 1, 1750 (under the "Old Style" calendar, December was the 10th month and January the 11th)

  • March 24, 1750 was followed by March 25, 1751 (March 25 was the first day of the "Old Style" year)

  • December 31, 1751 was followed by January 1, 1752 (the switch from March 25 to January 1 as the first day of the year)

  • September 2, 1752 was followed by September 14, 1752 (drop of 11 days to conform to the Gregorian calendar)

Anyone else plan on putting old clothing arranged on your front lawn to look as if you were taken in the rapture?
