i bought an 02 grand prix gt in the fall to replace the green monster after it torpedoed a head gasket at 300 000kms (i would have fixed it but the car was starting to rot) anyways im slowly learning my low mileage and well priced grand prix was the car that didnt get driven much, exhaust was rotten, today i went to do the brakes... the pins were so seized and un removeable it wasnt funny! luckily i kept the calipers from the green monster (felt wierd putting 15 year old calipers on this car) but its just shocking what lack of use will do to a car...

Cars, like buildings, preferred to be used than be not. I have always been a bit worried about UNDER MILE cars as much, if not more, than hi mile cars.

Diesel vw's are just like that. The more the milage the fewer the issues. Look at bandi's

And most of my customers cars... most of the 10 year old VWs I drive with 500,000 km on the clock drive a hell of a lot better than 10 year old VWs with 100,000 on 'em.

you probably lost the proportioning valve... or the lines going out of that bloc.

i felt around this morning, there is a rubber line going up to the block from the section of hard line at the wheel before the wheel line. Anyways, i still have most of the brake parts off the 97, so while im at it the incredibly corroded calipers from the 02 will be shitcanned in favor of those fro mthe 97. If the floorpan hadnt been so rotten in the 97 id really regret scrapping it. I had that thing running like a new car. this one fuck me, all thats left to change is the engine... and i know thats comming

this damned car... it was obviously parked in a heated garage. the brake lines to the rear are rusted where they curve around the firewall. i guess im gonna have to learn to flare tubing
