Got a fella wantin to swap me a one family (father pass to son who doesn't want it) K5 Blazer. Looks damn near new in the photos. Suppose to have zero rust. Ideas thoughts insults?

No insults here amigo. I like Jeeps, but a K5 Blazer, (I'm guessing around 1975?)is a classic. Removable top, simple reliable engine and drivetrain. And of course a pig on gas. So what. This is a hobby vehicle that is either second or third in your driving routine. Great for nearby excursions, off roading, fun cruising. If minimal rust, this could be a very good move. Wait ten years, it will be a serious collectable, already is to some.

My '74 K5 Blazer was so rotted out that when I removed the top, it was never the same again. The doors wouldn't close, tailgate wouldn't close, etc. Sweet ride though... inline 6 and 3 speed with granny low.

K5 deal died. Kids dad said the CRX would be too fast for him. apparently he doesn't know that HF doesn't mean Hella Fast. Right now I got a couple guys offerin around $2500. If it does more than $2000, I'll pull the trigger on sellin it.

As I type, there is a 53 year old man driving 150 miles just to see it. Is there some cult status with this thing? I mean really, between him and the guy who wants to come from Ohio, I'm wonderin if Honda made the block out of solid Gold or some shit. Its just wow lol.

Actually yes, there is a cult following for the CRX. You might be able to squeeze $3500 or so out of it with a bit of paint work.

I'll bet $5 that the guy coming to see it had one when he was in the military and had to sell it because he was being stationed overseas. That's almost always the story with these. It's either that or he wants a race car. The HF is the best CRX for autocrossing and road racing because it's the lightest by a good margin.

Old guy wanted it, his wife pecked him into submission. When he was test driving it she kept sayin, I won't allow it. NO way. Bitch. She out weighed him by a couple hundred pounds so I know who won that convo.

Got another guy wantin to swap me his dailey driver 62 Plymouth Valiant with a slant 6 and a 3 on the tree. Dunno, havn't looked at it yet. Those worth anything? Told him I would mull it over. Supposedly in excellent mechanical condition with all body work done and in prime. I'll have to see his "bodywork".

Oh, and its a 4 door, which I like but I know that hurts its value.

The Valiant is worth more than $500 and IMO, is a much more interesting ride. I'd do that trade.

so few Mustangs with the I6's are left unmolested... most people pull out the 6 and stuff a 302 in (trying to pass it off as a K-code 289 HiPo) with the obligatory 4speed of Cruise-o-matic auto.

Yeah, if the motor was toast I would pull it to rebuild, but drop a 302 in it till I could swap back. This ones for the wife actually. She loves this year Mustang and thought we could never afford one (she had a 64 1/2 shell when I met her, but never went anywhere, too much missing). She has always wanted a early 'stang, and if I can give up this lil honda and get her one, I'm all for it.

I want a 60's Stang. I don't care if it's a 6 or an 8, fastback or notch. I just love them.

(BUT... if I'm allowed to be picky, a dk. green '68 Fastback, 390 4 speed with black Cragar Torq-Thrusts and horse badge delete.)
