when I become quite successful due to real estate and inheritance I will buy classic cars and make youtube videos of me destroying them.

Hey don't get me wrong, there are definitely assholes in the bunch.... hell there's assholes in every bunch of.....

... my issue is painting everyone with the same asshole brush, because they've bought collector cars perhaps at an inflated price, perhaps at an auction.

umm inheriting doesn't make you successful. Just financially well off (possibly) due to having successful family members who left it to you

i'd bet 100 bucks you've never met one of these guys you're terming as an asshole! So they have money and overspent on some rides that they really really wanted. When i'm sitting on 7 figures, i'm likely going to indulge in some guilty pleasures. That doesn't make someone an asshole

it makes you jealous in my mind

OK maybe your right.........But i will say this. I have been i cars all my life.and i have two very nice rides now....and when i go to car shows and swap meets you think you like to talk to other car nuts too. And they act like what you got is crap.or a lie .Also me and a buddy went to a show this summer and saw this 69 Z-28..that really was not in that good of shape...And i said i like to buy something like this and the owner said.....You dont got the money for a car like this ..and me thinking. You dont know what money i may have....THERE TO MUCH ATTITUDE in this hobby.....

I'll just say this, cars are built to be driven. Not traded like baseball cards.

I agree. Look at Jay Leno; his car collection is meant to be driven. He drives a different car from his hangar every day.

I have a client like this, collects cars has a 996 turbo, gallardo, SLR, SL65, LP640 and he beats the shit out of all of them and enjoys them instead of watching them collect dust.

If I ever come into money, I want to buy a very clean survivor car that was never driven and start driving it. Maybe enter it in vintage races.

I have driven several Porshes, and they havn't been the same since.

BTW, 944 and its ilk can die a fiery horrible death. Once you drive a true Porshe, those feel like an insult.

And my favorite driving Porshe, was oddly enough the Boxster. Underpowered for sure, but I just loved the way it drove. Felt light, some cars can be light and feel heavy anyway, but the Boxster just felt right. I dunno. I know, its a chicks car
