Posted by cr400 I haven't seen Thunder Road in 25yrs or more.........Even the original star wars seems corny to me now.......Why would thunder road be any diff, I think I must remember the sound of that old ford?
That '50 Ford did sound really sweet. Really, really sweet.
Posted by cr400 I don't remember Richard pryor being in my old dirt tracker movie? I wanna say Robert Redford???? Gary Busy??? I don't remember it being a comedy.
Greased Lightning wasn't a comedy. It was the true story of Wendell Scott. However, I have some vague memories of what you are talking about. I will be researching it tonight.
Posted by cr400 How about Stroker Ace?
LOL! Oh man! I love that flic. Funny as hell! Plus, Loni Anderson was absolutely babe-a-licious in it.

BTW - I don't know if I ever mentioned this to y'all, but films like this hit close to home for me. I grew up in Roanoke, VA, which is in the Appalachians. We still have land and a small home just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Almost everyone in my family (on my dad's side) made and ran shine. One of my cousins is/was Curtis Turner, a shine runner and early Nascar racer.

That was it!!!! Jeff Bridges is fantastic in anything he does.........StarMan, Tron, IronMan, Broken down country singer, White Squal, Big Lebowski, and many others I can't think of right now.
I have family in Richmond VA, transplants from CA, but they've been there for 30 years.
Pretty good chase scenes in the Dukes of hazard movie..........

Mother was in Richmond, passed away. A sister was in outskirts of Richmond, she's now in FLA.
I have a brother in Colonial Heights VA. Haven't heard from him in a month or so. He's really into old battlefields and old buildings........
My guess is there must be a lot of that stuff around back there?;)
Bond films always had good chase scenes, What about the motorcycles in the Luge course. That scares me just to think about trying it. Especially on the old XT500 Yamahas they were using.........Heavy!!!!!!!, awkward!!!!, dangerous!!!

Some awesome stuff here. Funny, I just watched Starman the other day, hadn't seen it ever, or since it came out. Saw Grand Prix when I was about ten, freaked me out. The guy hanging in the tree and all. I don't think the wipeout is on this scene. On my backup computer, it's too slow for motion pictures, lol.
Nice train race with a Boattail in Red Rock West, plus Dennis!
