"premium" diesel?

I'm taking delivery of my first diesel car tomorrow. I see that Shell sells a premium diesel for about 4c more per litre. Given how relatively cheap diesel is, I don't care spending a little more of it is worth it. ... so is it?

Its 2% biodiesel mixed with 98% regular diesel.

From my truck driving friends, they say unless the owners manual requires calls for it, you can use regular road diesel.

I assume you're joking, but there really is exhaust fluid now. New Ford diesels require an additive called DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid)

I thought it was a joke too. I asked the customer to show me, so he brought me to his truck and showed me the filler cap for it under the gas door.

Go figure

I didn't swear by it, I know its basically kerosene, but, not all engines are worth rebuilding, or cars for that matter. If you can coax a little life out of it with some snake oil, why not.

Once on a friends 1995 Roadmaster, we changed out the belt, idler pulley and anything else almost on the serpentine belt that was serviceable and we still had a squeal. We put on just a dab of belt dressing and away it went. I still don't understand why...
