well? and i don't want to hear the usual bullshit. look at both cars and tell me what you think looks better. (this should be a fun thread... like a bullet to the groin) personally, i like the Fiesta better and the customer service weinerhead at Ford told me that the three-door Fiesta and Fiesta RS should be in dealers by June or July of 2011.

I'm not a fan of the overdesigned "futuristic" cockpit designs of either. The Cruze looks better in the sedan vs. the Fiesta sedan (though, not because it looks particularly great, but rather because the Fiesta sedan looks particularly bad).

Fiesta. i saw it last year here at the ford plant and it looked pretty good. (oh im talking hatch BTW, i dont really like the sedan as much)

Good Topic, Sam! For me personally, its hard to say...both of them look the same. I think I would have to decide based upon my old dealbreaker, how it steers.

The Fiesta is not a Daewoo.

fiesta.

Fiat 500, Mini Cooper, Fiesta, Nissan Juke and then wayyyy far in the back - the Cruze. I love the cheeky and tiny 500... it's so much fun and I can't wait to test drive a turbo version. Rochester is a target market for the 500. Mini Cooper's a blast, and I actually can't wait to see a Countryman. I think it might be fun, even if it's not really so much a "Mini" anymore. I really like the new Fiesta and I'm excited about the RS/ST version (whichever they decide to actually bring). I really wish they had the TDCI like in Europe... that little diesel has such stupid amounts of torque for a car that size. Nissan Juke - I was surprised that I liked this, but it's so non-appliance-y from Nissan lately, and it's a little AWD (full-time... other option is FWD only) with a small turbo four and decent cargo space. And it's just so different looking that i actually like it. Cruze. Daewoo. Nuff said.

one, the Cruze is a fucking Daewoo. two, no coupe model.

Based purely on appearance, I'd take the Cruze. Daewoo or not.

Based on appearance, I like the Cruze better. However, that being said, they're both ugly as sin. The Cruze is just the lesser of two evils.

If we are rating purely on looks, the Cruze. I actually like the way it looks It looks like a shrunken Malibu. For basic four door sedans, i think they have great lines.

what sucks balls about the whole thing was that I liked my Cobalt and was hoping for a long run (ie Cavalier) where there were a couple of generations, you know a legacy car that runs for more than a decade. The Cruze to me is too much like an anonymous people mover. It has no personality at all... and on top of that, the engine is too fucking small. A 1.6L in the Aveo had all it could do around here... this car is bigger than an Aveo with a 1.4L? And the turbocharged engine doesn't come with a manual shift? No coupe model... No "SS" trim... it's just another attempt for GM to try and be Toyota. at least the Festiva has some potential in a 3-door model, an actual Rally variant... Maybe there will be a coupe model of the Cruze, or a larger engine as optional in the coming years... as it stands, it's either a Fiesta or a Honda Civic. I just don't like a four door car.

Or a VW Golf (which is far and away my fav in the segment)

the latest iteration of the Malibu is quite nice for a staid sedan... the early N-body based Malibus were 15 tons of suckage. Those fucking cars needed a mercy killing... oh they were great if you could keep brakes on the fucking things. Or keep a transmission in them...

Try changing a headlight bulb, and you'll curse that car to hell for eternity. You have to remove the whole front fascia, which is installed by robots that can get their digits where a human cannot. It's a fucking JOKE. And I totally agree with you on those early N Malibus... those are my absolute least favourite car EVER made. EVER. And they seem to be a douchebag magnet these days.

that's because they go right from trade-in's to the 'pay here' lots... no one wants to offer a warranty on these bags of mechanical ass. I'm a Chevy guy and I can honestly say, that the N-body Malibu was a piece of shit.
