"Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning." - Richard Cook
In reality though, parked cop, outside his car vs Corvette hauling ass... He would have been better off to radio to his buddy up ahead and continue with the McLaren, no fuckin way a crown vic stands a chance to catch up to the 'vette, if the 'vette doesn't slow down.
The trick is to be alert enough to hit the gas before he busts out the blue lights ... you're not running until the lights come out you're just upping the ticket.
Doing 47 in a 40, had one hiding off on a side road, seen him pull out behind me ... minute he did that, it up to 60 saw the headlights still catchin up and 60 became 80 and I banged it up to 90 as I turned down a side road prepared to put it in the triple digits if need be, but I managed to get to the side road before he seen me turn, he kept driving down the main road, I looped back and did 5 under the rest of the way home. It was only a mile of racing and two miles from home but was one of the most intense experiences I've had yet.
He wasn't expecting me to take off like that, that was the key to my escape, I was only doin' 7 above, he figured he could take his time with the pullover. Nope, not tonight.
Off course, I was coming home from successfully climbing a building that had beat me four times previous (in a lightening storm no less) so the adrenaline and fuck all attitude was running pretty fierce. Stupid thing was I wasn't intending on doing anything crazy on my way back, actually driving slower than I normally do; just wanted to go to bed, was sick of being awake at that point.
"No risk, no reward, no fun." "Go all the way or walk away" escensi omnis...
Posted by Samurai when you can say that you have gotten away from the state police in a 98 Neon R/T or a 91 Chevy Cavalier RS, then you have accomplished something.
I've heard of a story from my friends at Clackamas County Sheriff's Office about how a fresh from the academy deputy got beat by a kid in a Ford Fiesta.
