Posted by jeepdave What Jeep doesn't get is Jeep guys don't care what it looks like?????? Sorry Jeepdave but remember the sobbing and nashing of teeth when this happened? I remeber people writing into four wheeling magazines and whining that real jeeps don't have square headlights.

Oh god...the round headlight debate...that was the silliest thing ever.

Vehicles without protruding front bumpers kind of look like they have harelip.

If I was going to go out of my way to buy a Jeep I would want something that not a lot of people have. What about an old Willys Jeepster. I also have to agree that the new Grand Cherokee looks like a soccer mom bloat mobile. And yes it looks like it would bottom out over a speedbump. It is not meant to go off road. I miss the days when vehicles like that were built to work not be luxurious. I remember rideing to boy scout campouts in the troop leaders Suburban that had an interior that could be cleaned out with a hose if necessary. I for one could care less if a car has power windows, locks or seats. I want something that will handle the daily commute without any problems nothing more.

Again, the Grand Cherokee was intended to be the luxury liner of the Jeep brand. Its one of the first vehicles that spearheaded the SUV craze of the 90s.
