Finally got around to getting the '73 running again today, and did a few other little things- Kamei air dam, some driving lights, Sport Bug bumpers, Lemmerz GT wheels...

That reminds me! There was a bug owner I heard about here who has sone weird gas heater that can keep the passenger compartment hot instantly at temps high as 100F! The name of this unit started with an H.

Yeah! Thats the name! There was also someone at a hamfest who had a Motorola brand one (Galvin Manufacturing, the name before it became Motorola made a bunch of auto parts too)

Yeah, the Eberspacher will turn an aircooled VW into the only car that will allow you to get frostbite and 3rd degree burns at the same time! They tend to spit flames into your lap once the inside of them rusts out. I have a few that have never been installed in a car.

Also saw a Borg-Warner (I think... one of those companies) one in a '67 Beetle that had a spark plug sticking out of the end.

I'm actually thinking of installing some Hella 500FFs instead of the small driving lights...

with all the Bugwork you do, Bandi, i am surprised that you don't have one with a 911 engine in the back.

They're pretty much my favorite factory wheel for the Bug... also came on Porsche 914s.

sacrifice, my son, sacrifice... ;)
imagine the pimpslapping you'd hand someone with a 911 engine in the back of a race-lightened Bug?

the kid with the black 944 is back down here... he's already been handed his teutonic ass by my Cobalt twice. You'd think he'd go forced induction, small block Chevy or STFU. Oh well...

Even the Turbo 944s suck... lol. I've smoked more than a handful with the Tercel.

Actually... if I was gonna make a ridiculously fast bug, I'd use an STI engine. Cheaper than the 911 engine, fits in the compartment better and more reliable.

I should add that I think the Porsche flat six is the best sounding engine ever made, and I'd also ruin the upholstery every time I opened the six throttle plates and screamed past an unsuspecting Corvette.

I dunno, I think I would stick with a VW engine. Some of those Sand Rails are freaking insane with a Vdub motor. Don't they make a V-4 based on a small block chevy that bolts up to a Beetle?
