We should also invest in a periscope, to see if the manhole enters onto a road. it also should be small enough to go though the holes on 4 and 6 hole manholes. It should be possible to have that size.

Filters, mask, periscope, small sniffer.
It's not too much, if properly packed.

I am fine.
Hey guys I just found out that we can use these filters on our masks to escape from H2S.

These fit on the black north silicone masks. The part number is 7583P100, and they are NIOSH. I believe some of us have a few of these in our possession and they would be great for venturing forth into the right fork of the Groat Drain. The smell in there won't be an issue at that point.

I am still working on the compression of my pics, so sit tight people.

So, if anyone wants to join me when the weather turns around, I will be heading there.

Be careful, nothing I saw on the net said that specific part # was rated for H2S escape. Make sure it says so on the cartridge. P100 does not always mean the same thing for every cartridge. Please just make sure before you try to use it for that. And if it is rated for H2S escape, if you do use it while exposed to H2S please make sure you dispose of the carts and replace them with new ones.I don't want you guys dyin before I get the time to go and explore with yas... and certainly not because you couldn't be bothered to replace a $20 set of cartridges.
ok finally found the North website. annoying to find but it says that cart is H2S rated.

Hey guys! sounds like your meet went very well besides the illness a few of your got (sorry to hear)

I am finally on my way home, in my earlier post i has said i was out the country for several months but my trip has come to an end and i will be landing in edmonton june 6th, going camping with the guys on the 11th,12th,13th but anything after that i am free and open to going, dont have work or school since i will just be getting back to i will have tons of free time ti drive around and play scout to find some cool locations.

The plant sounds and looks insanely cool i would love to go when i get back, but i would need to buy some supplies, where is the best place to get a solid gas mask, head lamp, strong durable (preferably waterproof) flash light, and anything else i might be needing for drain/factory/plant exploration

Drains arent my big thing but ill go if thats what the group is up to im open to it, but im really interested in factories plants and things of that nature... and caves.

This summer i think it would be an insanely fun idea if we have the right group of people to go down to the rockies and hit some of the old abandoned mines in crows nest pass, anyone else ever been down their?

Let me know what you think! and please inform me of any meets or things of that sort after june 6th! good luck on future runs while im absent hopefully see and meet you all soon.

Supply Sgt at West Ed Mall sells tacticool flashlights and such, go to Dropzone Tactical south of the river if you want to sink money into a good load carriage system and can't be arsed with ordering online.

Also in West Ed is Atmosphere (formerly Coast Mountain), they sell Petzl headlamps among other outdoorsy things there and mine's still going strong.

Gas masks, I'm not too sure of, I've got a full face mask at work but I'd rather get a half-mask to maximize my field of view.

OK guys and gurls, here are the pics from Meet #1 and the following trip to the plant. Not going into too much detail here, just posting the pics. So... Enjoy.

P.S. Meet # 2 pics to come shortly!!!

Sorry about your luck guys, I hope everyone made it away without fines and such.
Maybe the plant is a no go zone for now. This may just be a calling to go explore and infiltrate other places. Once again, I hope everyone is not 200 dollars lighter in the pocket.

Try $115

I didn't get the ticket myself, but I will most definitely be footing part of it.

Last time I took a tripod to a UE meet, I clotheslined myself, took a ridiculously time getting past obstacles and banged off anything and everything that makes the heart skip a beat when struck.

Having said that, I won't mind bringing my tripod out if I'm not the only one doing it.
