Well they do mention that a "dozen need immediate attention, and 30-plus still need to be dealt with" so there's clearly stuff out there to find.

I just wish they had attached a list of properties, to inform people so they can avoid looking at them...

Most of them are just store front properties that aren't interesting. The goal is to crackdown on easily visible buildings. But a list would be nice.

How about the three of us get together, say, Saturday afternoon? We can discuss the logistics of a larger event sometime after the 11th.

As far as I'm concerned, the more the merrier! I'm hoping to get a more "official" event underway sometime soon.

For those of you lurkers following this thread with rapt interest: we met up, good times were had, all buttholes were left intact.

Shit, I haven't even lurked in a long time but with the springtime fast approaching I'm eager to stretch my legs and smell some mold... Count me in if there's an event getting planned.

Hello everybody. New here, although I have stumbled across this site in the past. I'm deff interested in meeting up with some of you folk. Don't really know anyone that shares my passion to explore. Anyways, I've got some topics on my mind so figured id bring them up now.

So to start, What's the deal with the concrete capped sections along the Anthony henday transit corridor? I've noticed that beside all of the storm water lakes there's at least one of these, and although I don't have a key(is that what the square holes are?) a little banging on the top has told me that they may be quite cavernous inside. I'm assuming there some sort of hydraulically operated switching stations to divert water into the lakes when there's too much water for the sewers to handle? I found a nice accessible shaft entrance next to one of these if anyone is interested in a little exploration, unfortunately I was a little too afraid to enter alone last week when I was there.

Also, a little birdy told me of a parking garage that was abandoned after the developer ran out of money to build a tower above it. I haven't gotten in yet, considering it's flooded all but ~2weeks out of every year. It was built around 2009 and I hope to check it out this dry season. Don't really want to disclose the location though.

Shake the tree a little, and see what falls out!

Greetings to the new (and new to me) faces, glad to see we're not the only active bodies in the area!

I think most of them are unlocked, you just need some kind of square metal tool to turn the latch. The inside is interesting to look at, but you probably don't want to go in. There's some pics in the Edmonton Drains thread:

Thanks allot Chronular. didnt realize there was a drain thread aswell, but i read that you have checked that outflow on the southside at the bridge? the entrance i was talking about would connect with that, i assume you would know about it, as it appears breached. (theres four railroad ties above the shaft.) not far from that cellar, which interestingly is about 15ft above the coal seam where ive done some gathering.

Quick edit for thos who dont frequent the south often. a 2-3m(?) Borring machine was out on surface of 23ave and 91st for servicing last month. lots of work being done in that general area

Hmm I don't think I'm actually familiar with the exact location and activity you're referring to. Those pics were from the area at 111th st. and anthony henday drive.

Looks like there's some interesting stuff going on around there though (on google maps). Might be worth checking out.
