Sweet shots sapper! I love industrial sites, the boiler room of the Camsell had some wicked pressure gauges and all kinds of interesting instruments before it got plowed, but this place must have been valve heaven!

Hey guys. I signed up for this site a while back but totally forgot about it until now.

I'm looking into shooting the Edmonton skyline from one of the condo buildings located on Saskatchewan drive and around the 104 st area. Does anyone have any experience getting rooftop access to one of these condo buildings? Or maybe you know someone who lives higher up with a north facing balcony?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

I got permission to visit the roof of Strathcona House once, when I lived in the building and had made myself known to the managers. I doubt access would be possible without their permission though.

I did get onto The Waters Edge(102st) when it had scaffolding to climb up. It was quite fun sneaking past all the people watching tv and reading books.

On mobile right now, but what street is Strathcona House on? Do you still have connections with that manager?

Not for ten years. It was the highrise that's the first you see after crossing the Highlevel. It's on Saskatchewan Drive built over the old trolley tunnel. It's an old grey '60s building with loops along the top.

Has anyone ever been to the abandoned water treatment plant next to the Walterdale Bridge construction area? I went by there yesterday and although I didn't go in it looked quite interesting. According to some city docs it's been closed since 1981.

Security regularly patrols and there are few cameras too. The inside of the Rossdale treatment plant is also completely gutted and sealed up. Only ways in and out of the property are climbing the 15 foot fence. So you better be nimble to get away if caught. The place always has been heated out by taggers.

Is anybody in town still interested in draining? I'd really like to give it a shot this year (obviously a little later in the year, once the snows been gone for a while). Has anybody been able to dig up some drainage maps for the city? I've spent a few hours on google but couldn't find anything.

I've been in the rossdale pump house that's next to the bridge. And have also scouted the entire perimeter of the main building.

I wouldn't drain right now. Too sketchy

I have a copy of a city drain map (not of the whole city, but most of it), as well as a personal map with the numbers for lots of outfalls. I can't speak for the friends of mine I usually drain with, but there's a number of places I'd like to explore further once the weather is nicer, and you are free to join me if you want.
