I thought the S-10 was an All GM design that just used some Isuzu engines?

put one on a lift next to an old LUV or Isuzu... they the same
also, the Isuzu Hombre WAS an S10 wit different grill and tail lights.

Say what you want, but I'd still rock a '90 S10 with a 350, slammed on IROC wheels.

other than being a rotbox, the S10's were ok... i mean, they weren't fabulous. But they were a step above a Dakota and about even with a Ranger. In the compact truck wars of the 80's and 90's, the Yota and Nissan reigned supreme. Now, they suck too.

I think I should find a group of investors to help form a company to make small trucks

I bought a Colorado new in '06 for $18,000. Extended cab with Z71. It has 56,xxx miles on it now and I've had zero issues with it. About the only thing I don't like is the wind noise from the rear doors when I'm driving into a stiff headwind.

Oh, wait. The CD player conked out about a year ago. It was replaced under warranty. That's the only trip to the dealership it's had.

to tell you the truth, i'm not really sure what it 'was' that i didn't like about the Colorado... it just didn't feel as well made as my mom's 2001 S10 4x2. Maybe it's subjective. I mean Bandi works on these things at a dealership... Kudos to you for buying American and GM.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not offended by anyone's opinion! Just offering anecdotal evidence.

When I buy new, I always buy GM. I guess because I've always had good luck with them and I was a Chevy line tech for many years I'll always prefer them.

(But I'm seriously considering a new Challenger!)

I like it but the design team forgot that headlights can burn out... the entire front fascia has to come off, and well, those engineers can get their pencils in a lot of places I can't fit a wrench.

(sigh)... i guess there has to be something stupid in every car. Headlight replacement is the cars' albatross. Look at it this way, at least the headlights go for awhile in the Malibu... you can't keep a bulb in the Caliber.

The Stratus has a million of those little usability quirks. Like wheel hub assemblies that include the bearing and tend to go pretty frequently... or tie rods that bend/stretch a bit too easily. The hoods collected water on the inside up at the nose because of the plastic hood liner on the underside. The headlights were the biggest bitch to install because there was only enough wire on the harness to give you about 2 inches of wiggle room, meaning you had to work inside the cramped engine compartment just to be able to install a headlight. Headlights went out a little too often, too. Plus... 3 fucking belts! WTF?!?

Me goin' legit would be like JarJar on speech therapy.

At least there's a chance of smashing into something in the dark that way. One less Caliber every time!

And yeah, I've only had to do one bulb in the new style Malibu in the past 2 years, and we've sold a pile of the cars.
