I beleive the chap 8' in the air is on a CRF 50, but the photo is about 10 years old....So it could be a XR50? I'm guilty of derailing this thread, so I'll post up about a bike I bought. Went by a Garage sale and saw a sad lookin' CR400 Husky, Bought it for $50.00 That was 15 years ago, she runs great after a little resto work... She gets used a few times a year, and is constantly getting improved. She got a new rear fender shortly after this photo, due to me looping her. 1.

Late 70's Husky? Short travel and weird front fender.

They do have weird fenders. It's like they took a mold off of the old aluminium fender, including the aluminium mount. My '79 OR390 has that droopy rear fender, I love it!! I'm just glad they shift on the left side, I have a few bikes that shift on the right side. At times I've had the shit scared outta me by those.

My pop is currently restoring a 71-72 H-D Sprint 250. It is a single cylinder ass backward motor(sweet lil bike). It kicks and brakes on the left. Shifts on the right. Thats just wrong.
The question is not when are we gonna stop, It's who's gonna stop us? | |
It's all well and good, cruisin' along, shiftin' on the right, brakin' on the left....... until you've got to react quickly. Then all I seem to do is downshift 2x before I can hit the brake. Sure gets the adrenalin pumpin'. I'll try to get back on topic.... I went to a home to look at a '73 Husky WR400 that was for sale. Pretty rough shape, but all of it was there. We talked for awhile about the old days and racing. Named off our heroes from the '70's. Talked about desert races we had both raced in, and old long dead tracks we used to race on. After all the talkin', he says he's glad it's going to a home where it will be loved, and tells me to go down to the store, and buy him a 12pack of Coors, and the bike will be mine. I couldn't get back quick enough. I still have to restore that bike.

Thought you guys might like to see this, the last photos of carlsbad, taken in 2004 shortly before it was destroyed.........The USGP was held here for many years......I never got to ride this track, I wish I had, Too late now. http://www.vintage...bad_remembered.htm Jones, I think I remember the phantom duck racing Hare and Hounds out here? It's kinda foggy though. No idea what ever became of him? What my '73 WR400 should look like, All I need is more time. 1.

Posted a shot of this guy in another thread but as it's cold as hell I'm just fired up to find this board so here's another: $350 for a 110 cc "Honda" Win, had to be at least ten years old with no speedo, must have spent about another hundred in repairs along the month of riding it through Vietnam. At an average of $5 per mechanic visit that's a hell of a lot of repairs. Was it worth it? I met a guy who let me know they cost $350 _brand new_ But look at my expression. Knowing what I know now I would pay it again gladly if I had no other choice.
